every1 is toking about Zuraw but we dnt even no if he will be gd.okay he has a proven record in a polish league which is probs worse than the spl.He has never even played in the group-stages of the CL.So y is every1 tokin bout 'ohwell Bellamy is gone, who cares we have Zuraw'.Dnt kid urself he could be a new BRATBACKK for all we no as he had an impressive goal scoring record didn't he?! so really although bellers doesnt score much goals he contributes alot to the team and is a GREAT PLAYER and is worth alot more than 6million. I cant believe we havent even made an offer as i heard everton have had only a 5MILLION bid accepted 2day.So cmon lads the board is A JOKE dnt b fooled because theyve signed a guy who has only done well in Poland is is nearly 29! I hope he is gd but i doubt he will be anywhere near as gd as Bellers.

We need a few players of decent quality and although £5m is a very good price for a player of Bellamy's quality, we need strengthening in every department of the team. He has scored at grounds like the Bernabeu and against some of the top European nations so dont slam him just yet. Yes he may be another Brattbakk, but on the other hand, he could be another Henke. Thats just the risk we'll have to take.

The board are trying to do it all on the cheap again....hopefully i will be wrong but i honestly dont see it getting us anywhere -

No denying that Zurawski is the cheap option, but we need as many players as possible from the transfer budget. Don't know much about the standard of the Polish league, but he is a proven international, and Poland are far better than Scotland or Wales. WGS was in Poland on a spying mission, MON had recommended players to him, so who knows, lets give him a chance.

I would really love to have Bellamy back at CP but we can't afford to blow 5-6m of our budget on one player. Our very tight budget has to strengthen up all areas of the squad, so in some ways going cheap is better.
Signing unknown players is risky but can turn out for the best, look at Henke and Stan.
Previous seasons we have been signing and also attempting to sign ole english washouts, so I am glad that we are finally looking out of the UK for unknown talent. -
Imagine if Hartson or Bellamy was in the Polish league. In 25 games, would they have managed to net 24 times? I don't think so. This guy isn't a dud. He is a player with a lot behind him so let's see what he can do.

i agree with mark .
strachans just taken over and im sure he realises the weight that he has taken on ,hes managing the biggest supported club in the world , hes going to be very sure of a player before he buys ( tight budget or not ) hes not going to buy pish and finish his carreer before its began. -

Got to remember that WGS knows both Hartson and Bellamy and what they are capable of, if WGS thinks Zurawski is a better option at 2M, that's good enough for me. Zura is at a good age, 29 I think, so it's not as if he's unproven, good goals ratio in the league and at international level. Here's hoping he's the first of many.

Does anyone remember Brattback? Need I say more? Im kinda worried, but I have faith.

Yeah Harald didn't have the best of times at CP,but he was a part-time footballer, I think the Polish league is full-time. Brattback always gave 100% percent and took up good positioning, but he seemed to lack the killer touch and composure to be a top class scorer. He did score the goal which stopped 10 in a row, and he did score 2 good goals against us in the CL, maybe Celtic wasn't the team for him. If WGS signs Zurawski, as the cheap option to Bellamy, I hope the fans remember it's the Board who control the finances for transfers and not the manager.

I think were gonna have a weaker squad at the start of this season than we did at the end of last season. Even If we spend 15 million this summer on players i still think it won't be enough we might of off loaded some dead wood but even last season we had no squad depth so what the * type of condition is our squad gonna be in by january never mind next may.
I've got no faith what so ever in the celtic board and think they try to cut corners on every possible chance.
Zuraw could be the next henrik he could be the next harald but you can bet your bottom dollar the only reason the board are going after him cos 2mill for a striker these days are cheap. Bellamy is one of the best forwards in the UK and at 5 million he's a steal IMO a blind man could see that but the celtic board are only looking at one thing and thats their bank roll. -

Everything I've read about Maciej Zurowaski has been positive and whilst you have to take most of the media with a pinch of salt, 24 goals in 25 and games and being Polish player of the year has to count for something, let's give him a chance, what else can we do ?

Polish football is far superior to the SPL believe me. The only reason these players are being snapped up now is because of Poland's entry into the European Union.
-
Very good point mate, I forgot about that one. Now that their in the EU the players don't need a work permit to come to Scotland, right? That's probably another reason their being picked from the pack. -
Their football can't be that bad at all as their national side came 3rd in the 1974 and 1982 World Cup, won the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 and came 2nd at Montreal in 1976 and at Barcelona in 1992. More than Scotland have ever done by a long shot.

Guys I do not know realities of Spl but I know how our premier looks like and trust my words Zurawski is a player who can be recommend by every manager, coach or supporter with a clear conscience to Your club.
Common Maciek do not disappoint Your fans !!! -
What about budgets? I guess there's nothing to compare in this field. Zurawski's current club, Wisla Krakow, is said to be the richest with 4,5 mln pounds yearly bugdet. The last club in the league table has the budget of less than 0,5 mln pounds. What about this? Would you give me any figures to compare?
