    Sell Ki. :56:

From a sane point of view, get rid of the deadwood and sign a few players of real quality to push us on and maybe compete in the Champions League.

Suppose people are right about selling a lot of players, but we need to replace a couple of them too!

Forster permanent, an established european or british CB and a Striker. Then I'm happy.

No need to sell too many players, having rotation is a very attractive option.
Maybe let a couple go, and let Maj and Loovens out, and Buy another rock Centre back.
Absolute priority however is getting Forster signed up full time !.
Then maybe look at buying a couple of young forwards with potential, no biggy though, and possibly sort the left wing out, one way or another

Don't punt Kayal, Izzy or Hooper!! Thats what im afraid of in the summer. Its a certainty that the huns will lose their best players and im begging the board dont see that as a chance to cash in on one of these three. Because we all know that with this current team we are strong enough to dominate the spl for the next 4/5 years regardless of who goes!

i feel a good natural left footed player for our left hand side is a must, commons has been really poor this year, forrest is a right sided player and sammy isnt naturally left footed so would like a left footed left winger for me

Aye true, the most important thing is that the spine remains...

    Forster
    Matthews Rogne Mulgrew Izaguirre
    Wanyama
    Forrest Brown Kayal Ledley
    Hooper

(actually its a full 11 rather than a spine :56:)

    All them must stay.

  8. Eh? Lustig is versatile, I'll give you that, but he'll be used at right back. Fojut is a nothing signing, no clue why he was contracted. And Blackman will be lucky to get a new deal.

New CD is definitely needed. Maj is leaving in the summer, we hope, and hopefully Loovens won't be far long out the door. O'Dea is unlikely to get a new deal, as well as Hooiveld already transfering away.

We're hardly flush in the area anymore. Rogne is our only natural CD left, considering Mulgrew is an adapted CD and Wanyama is better as a DM.

Get rid of Maj, Loovens, Cha, Rass, McGinn, O'Dea. Get in a good CB. Maybe a striker and a solid back-up LB.

I would get rid of the following:

    (Defenders)

    Mark Wilson
    Glen Loovens
    Daniel Majstorovic
    Du Ri Cha
    Darren O'Dea
    Josh Thompson

    (Midfielders)

    Paddy McCourt
Efrain Juarez (If Ki or or Kayal are sold then I'd keep him.)
Ki Sung Yueng (If a good offer comes in.)
    Niall McGinn
    Kris Commons
    Richie Towell

    (Forwards)

    Daryl Murphy
    Morten Rasmussen
Georgios Samaras (If a good offer comes in.)

I'd like to see us sign:

    Keeper (Forster or Gordon.)

    Centre half (Zanka)

    Back up left back (Dixon)

Left sided Midfielder (Snodgrass or Templeton/Hayes.)

Striker (Russell or Rhodes if we sell Hooper.)

Keep the nucleus of the team together and only strengthen if the right player comes up.

I don't think we need too many more players. Might need to get rid of Cha, we've got a quality right back already, and Lustig looks to be good.

    Next season, hopefully.

    Goalkeepers -

Keep: Forster (sign permanently), Zaluska, (New Youth GK)

    Out: Cervi

In my opinion, Forster should be signed permanently. Other than that, we are fine with Zaluska signing up for three years as back-up. Hopefully we can add a young prospect as third choice for the coming season.

    Defenders -

Keep: Lustig, Matthews, Izaguirre, Mulgrew, Rogne, K.Wilson, Fojut, (New CB)

Out: M.Wilson, Cha, Majstorovic, Loovens, Blackman, O'Dea, J.Thompson

We still require another quality centre back to supplement what we have.

    Midfielders -

Keep: Brown, Forrest, Ledley, Kayal, Wanyama, Ki, Commons, Samaras, Ibrahim, McGeouch

    Out: McCourt, Juarez, McGinn

We are fine for options in midfield, however, this is all contingent on Commons returning to form. We have great balance and quality with the options of Ledley, Samaras and Commons for the left side. Also, Ibrahim may be a future star for that position. McGeouch will hopefully play more often next season.

    Strikers -

Keep: Hooper, Stokes, Bangura, (New TM)

    Out: Murphy, Rasmussen

Can't write off Bangura before seeing him play. If fit, he will offer a quick, direct alternative to the finishing and creativity of Hooper and Stokes. If not, we have Samaras for that role. We still require a target man.

    Squad Size: 25
    Signings: 3
    Leaving: 13

    3 Goalkeepers + 8 Defenders + 10 Midfielders + 4 Strikers

^ great post and one i completely agree on. i would also add another player in the form of a left back to give proper cover to Izaguirre. i would like my beloved Dixon to fill that role.

to think we have 38 first team players on the books, regardless if some of them are on loan, is completely stupid and irresponsible. we all know there's players in that squad that offer very little-to-nothing to us any more. some never have offered anything. we need those players to leave to maintain our healthy finances.

time to seriously trim the squad. thank Ghod that some are coming to the end of their contract as to force us to let them go. the others are quite sellable assets.
