if forret hadn't come through our academy their is no way that we could afford him so it is highly unlikely that we are gonna go buy 2 wingers who are better.

I'm still not convinced about our centre backs, Maj, K Wilson, Rogne, Loovens are all sub-standard for any kind of tilt at the Champions League. I would like to see one experienced CB come in of genuine class to play alongside Mulgrew or perhaps Rogne who is still young.

We have plenty of cover on both sides at full back.

Our midfield is effective but is a little one-paced with Ledley, Ki, Brown, Wanyama.
I would like to see a quick, defence-splitting player, perhaps the young Nigerian may be the answer.

I still think we lack a genuine class striker and would like to see us strengthen in that area, preferrably someone with a bit of presence to play alongside either Stokes or Hooper.

I guess I just think the spine of the team needs a step up in class right through if we want to compete in Europe, which has to be the next aim.

sell Ki who just doesn't do it for me and give the youths like McGeouch and Twarzdik a chance. Don't think we need to strengthen much tbh, more concerned with trimming the squad than adding to it.

    1. New contracts for Stokes and Forster.

    2. Shedding the likes of Samaras, McCourt, Commons, Ki, Rasmussen, M. Wilson, Cha, etc. will definitely strengthen our Champions League chances next year.

    3. Long-term contract for Sir Neil.

Retaining both these players, would be an excellent holding for us. Both have excellent talents, and a big contribution to make at Celtic, and fit right into Lenny's rotational system that he favours. Let's cut our losses like Murphy, Rasmussen, and all the others who aren't ever going to make it at Celtic Park. Let's release some wages on players we don't really need, and use this money to strengthen our pool, by strengthening, while we reign at the top. One of our Boards biggest failures, was without doubt, not stengthening after Seville. They rested on their laurels, and that allowed the "Bankrupt mob" to steal success, that should have belonged to us :ynwacelti

I think this summer is more about selling than buying tbh.
We need to hold on to all our stars, as we did in January, and finally offload half a dozen (or more) of the deadwood who are taking up wages. The only first team/quality player I would sell is Ki, as I think we can get 7million for him and he would not be as big a loss as Kayal, Ledley, Wanyama, Forrest or Brown.

That's not to say I want to lose Ki at all, I want to see him develop here into the top class midfielder a lot of people think he can be, but out of all the players we can get big money for, he is the one I would be most comfortable with selling (if that makes sense lol)

A few months ago I really wanted us to spend 5mill + on a TOP class centre back, but Mulgrew and Rogne have been fantastic, at home and away and at little teams as well as the big pressure matches (i.e. Rogne having Jellyfish in his pocket all game) so I honestly don't know who we could buy better than them, without delving into 20million pound territory.

As far as i'm concerned, if we get rid of Maj, Loovens and Cha, and do nothing else then the summer transfer window will have been a sucess.

Also, how could I forget, signing Forster permanently is a MUST!!!

I actually think samaras has been quite good for us this season, both playing out wide and up top.

I've got a feeling we're gonna lose Hooper, Matthews and Ki in the Summer. That would rake in a fair bit of cash however and it's just a case of how we spend it.

The goal has to be to enter the CL for the first time in 4 years and depending on the draw it shouldn't be beyond us what with the European experience Lennon has gained thanks to the Europa Group.

    Forster is a must.
A Centre Back is a must to play with Rogne or Mulgrew
If the Swedish RB is good we'll still need another RB if Matthews does leave.
Need a LB as back-up to Izaguirre.

    Midfield is fine.

Two Strikers if Hooper leaves. This is the area we need to get right. No Banguras please.

Yeah, but ... are they ready for the pace and skill of Champions League football? I don't think so. Rogne, maybe ... Muldini? No. It hurts me to say it, but I don't think he's *that* good. I think we'll see his limitations against much, much greater talent. I hope I'm proven wrong though, but I don't think I will.

Let's spend the money from selling Ki to grab a Premier League calibre DF.

P.S. I don't know much about this Lustig ... is he any good? I hope so!

I would like us to sign Dixon. Always if I watch Dundee Utd he seems a cracking player. Also Mackay-Steven is worth a shout

Cant see either of them going, Hooper's already said he is willing to sign a new contract and Matthews has said he is happy here and is on a long term deal. We would be stupid to sell either of them imo.

don't think we will lose any big players, the lure of champions league football should be enough to keep them there for at least another 6 months, get rid of the deadwood and sign 2 or 3 quality players with the freed up money to help us in the champions league and to keep players on their toes throughout the season

    ... or longer.

But, you're spot on. Next year is huge. Even if they get booted down to the Europa League ... a LONG run in Europe awaits next year.

    Mark my words.

I agree ... but it's time to go.

Cycling talent in and out is the *only* way this club will get THAT much better.

if we even make it to the champions league we will need to play 5 in the mid and Ki with wanyama and kayal on either side will be great, then put ledley on the left and forrest on the right and bring in rhodes

Couldn't disagree with the bit in bold any more tbh. His display against the likes of Athletico Madrid and Udinese showed he is more than capable of playing at that level. The group we were in was effectively a champions league group and the majority of the players looked good. I think Mulgrew will always carry that kind of reputation that he is only 'SPL class'. He has been a regular in defence for over a year now, and has been our best centre half imo since he has came in. Don't see what more he can do to prove the doubters wrong. Rogne is the perfect partner for him imo.

to make it to the next level we have to get rid of out deadwood, brown is SPL level at best and has always been found out in europe, I also would cash in on hooper since I think Rhodes is better and we should use the money we got from hoops to buy rhodes grom huddersfield
