Certainly the board and the players share some of the blame. But for me sadly Tony Mowbray was the main reason we lost the spl title. That was made starkly clear given how well the exact same group of players played when Lennon took over.

Stupid reasoning 'ahh it's okay if we get dodgy decision after dodgy decision against us...as we should be good enough anyway' Who do you think we are, Barcelona? When we score legitimate goals and they get chopped off (7 in the league last season :87:) and thus drop points, a lot of the blame has to go with the masons in the black, no doubt.

No Leader on the park, teams who shouted the loudest got the decisions

The Refs where to weak in our favour by letting this happen.

Our defence once again was crap, all be it we had a lot of injuries in this department.

The fans staying away

The fans getting on the players back al la Sammy if mistakes where being made for example.

The press for the negativity surrounding how bad TM was, taking its toll.

It all adds up and to think a 1 game swing against Rangers and we would have been equal in points with them. Not something that was beyond us when you think of the fortuné goal or the 2 penalties and even the brown sending off.

It was Tony Mowbray and his poor man management and lack of motivation that was the chief cause, plus he signed or got players on loan who were not fit for purpose. But it has to be said that the refs did not do us any favours, and seemed * bent on answering the distress signals coming from Murray & Smith and Co, to guarantee them the league during their present financial difficulties.

And Mowbray slouched over the dug out most times looking like a sloth staring at his own shoes was not a good image for a Celtic manager to be exhibiting to the world.

Didn't say he was a clown - just a clown of a manager. His repeated attempts to keep West Brom while in the EPL playing good football and buying no defenders proves this.

Going on about 3 and 4 year plans when last season was our most important in ages(last season when the winners of SPL were guaranteed CL football) also proves this.

Managers who can afford to can have 3 and 4 year plans - not managers who desperately need to win the league in their first season.

If I tried to be an chemist or a scientest it's fair to say I would be a clown at it - doesn't meant I'm a nice guy or a clown overall - just at that particular job.

Perhaps I should edit to say that as Celtic manager, he was a total clown.

Although the referees did give a large number of meaningful decisions and the players were spineless twats, it was mowbray who wasted the money, selected the team and didn't give them any encouragement or motivation and he banished lenny from the whole picture so it was Mowbrays fault

im sorry refs do not win or lose the league for you. maybe a cup final or a one off a decision can go or not go your way but if we were good enough we would still win ANY match despite refs, especially in the SPL

This is up for discussion? Mowbray cost us the league.
His team was dreadful. Blame the players if you like, HE bought them. he all but wiped out Strach's team and blew it big time.

Bit of everything in my opinion. Refs played a part in bad decisions , players didn't really respond to mowbray and what can be said abot mowbray???? clueless? But who cares we will win next season and this season will soon be forgotten.

A bit of all the above really, i think its hard to say which one had the biggest effect, think TM had the right idea but wrong players but they were his players. Thought the players should have a good look in the mirror and the refs im still extremely * off about with there bottled decisions against huns and lack of decisions for the bhoys

if your drawing 1 each...get a penalty and score you win 2-1 right....so what if you get knocked back when you should have had a penalty?2 points lost.....who do you blame for the points lost?....the ref takes some blame so to say the refs weren't to blame at all is nonsense.

they along with the players and mowbray * up between the three of them

For me, it goes back to January 2009. We are sitting clear at the top of the table, but it is evident we are not scoring enough goals. We as fans know we need a new striker and Steven Fletcher seems to be perfect at a smal 2.5 million. The board fail to pay up and we suffer for it. The league is lost due to a lack of goals and Rangers end our succsessive wins. If we won 4IAR they would have been dead and Burried. Strachan would have stayed on and we could have gone on to maybe even get the 10!

So the league of 09/10 was really lost the season before.
