A lot of people were crying out for hastenberg.this kid has played at a much higher level and is younger.why are people so unhappy about this?is it cause he doesn't have a fancy foreign name?not trying to compare the two cause haven't seen them play.but Blackett does have the higher pedigree.

 

Not sure about this signing but hope he can do the business for us. As a previous poster said denayer came in last year and look what he became. I genuinely think that getting knocked out of the champions league though has seen us go down our list of targets, not sure guys like the Croatian who can play champ league or mechele who can play Europa would come here.

 

Think he can do a decent job. Don't we have an option to buy for around 4 million?

Denayer just went on loan to Galatasary, interesting timing and his decision is because they had CL football.

Just wonder if he was waiting to see if we qualified?

 

The big man will do a job a lot of people are saying he was * when he played at Man Utd the whole Man Utd team was * at that point and given the fact he is a young guy and playing at the highest level it cant be a bad thing he also had a couple of very good performances for them, I for one am glad he is here we are badly lacking in options at the back.

I hope to * he isn't cover for LB - he's a CB.

We need a proper LB in immediately.

 

I quite like him as a player from what I have seen (admittedly the odd 10 mins here or there) he seems strong but I thought he was a CB never have I seen him play at LB

 

Think blackett will turn out to be good piece of business over the course of the season as he covers to positions and with virgils exit likely we are going to be short in the defence. I also though he done reasonable well at man utd considering the fact he had to deal with the changing of formations and role in the team throughout his 10 or so games. he had to deal with being left centre of a back 3, left wing back of a 5 man defence , centre back and left back in a four man defence. I feel young players stepping up into a team need a consistency and understand of there responsibility's in the early games especially at that level.

and worst case it doesn't work out at least there is no considerable outlay as it is our option to meet the buy out clause we have agreed

Think this kid started a few of van Gaal's first games at utd
