In my opinion should have been a yellow for Brown for challenge and yellow for Neymar for the play acting.

You will see it on replays mate that he meant to kick out and he did connect. That video above is not the best angle but I promise you he did get him. It was petulant but the rules these days are so soft that it was a red card.

The video posted shows that he turns his foot sideways when he strides in but it doesn't look like contact was made at all. Maybe other angles will show different but for me it looks really soft. Whatever happened to the mans game? :31:

I know mate. I dont like the way football is in that respect. Especially when we twats like Neymar take total advantage of it.

    I'm not picky.
A sensible punishment would have been yellow, but a lot of referee's don't go with common sense and with con-men like Neymar going about selling incidents and referees being told to cut out things like this, Broony gave the referee an excuse for the red card to be pulled out as soon as he flicked out at Neymar.

Things like that just can't be done in today's game and in the rules of the game it was a red card, albeit a very soft red card.

The rules also state that dives should be punished by a yellow, yet the ref decided a talking to was all that a dive early in the game merited.

The ref was a * toward Celtic tonight, our first corner in and he gives a free kick against us and then the free kick shortly after and he awards Barca a free kick again.

Sympathy from me to Broony, must * you off to * when up against that and then have wee diving * playing it up knowing they won't get punished.

    Sammys booking was pish too.

    * it!

probably shouldn't have been a red but it was a very stupid thing to do and our captain should know better.

Its a red 100%. Im quite embarrased by the amount of people saying a yellow and I feel for yous tomorrow in work or whatever when yous try and defend him.

Yep. That's pretty much how I saw it too.

I think the poll result shows that Broony has to take responsibility for his part in the incident.

Due to the lack of contact and intent, it should have been a yellow and a final warning for Broony. Straight red is a but harsh. Neymar should have also been warned for his play acting. That face he pulled in front of the referee was hilarious, last time I showed pain like that in my face I had just snapped my wrist... and I was 11.

I didny notice watching in the pub earlier but watched some of the game again as I recorded it and that * of a referee had the yellow, then all those arseholes started chasing him and he got the red out. The *

He did kick him in the back, the replay clearly shows that.
    Red card deserved.

Deserving a red and Neymar acting the * are not mutually exclusive things in my opinion. Yes.

Neymar is an play acting little rat but looking at the decision

Looking at it in 2 parts
1st part - Brown made contact to prevent a good Barca chance(Neymar was away from him) That's a clear yellow
2nd part Brown aimed a kick at the little * ,off the ball while he was on the ground, that anywhere in the park is worth at least a yellow or a straight red going by the rules.
There was no other option for the ref a clear Red

    Yes. Absolutely.

It's the kind of thing that Referees are pulled up for if they miss. if they see it, the player will be off every time.
