Neymar made it a red! how many wee niggles, tussles at corners, stepping on toes etc etc go on in every game of football in the world and go unpunished? Neymar was rolling around the whole game, and made a meal of nothing to get brown sent off, plus if it was any other player than brown I suspect reactions on here would be different!

Brown was an absolute * idiot. I've only just seen it on the replay but nobody can argue with that red card. Against Barca who the * does that? I thought he'd really matured over the last couple of years but that was so * stupid, it'll take me a while to forgive him for that.

Was a yellow for intent, but that neymar acted like a pure * to get him the red.

Doesn't even fit the rules of football. If you strike or attempt to strike an opponent or team mate then it's a straight red card. Not a yellow because he didn't even manage to kick him probably.

The intent in itself is enough for a straight red.

It was a booking for me but he kicked out and then left the ref with a decision to make which you cannot slate him for.

Also, for Celtic fans getting irate at Brown bear in mind it is his job within our team structure to act as he does. His Manager was one of the best at it and is taking clear instruction to act in the same manner.

I would never be hypocritical enough to slate him when, by being gallus and street wise in the first place against Karagandy, we reached the Champions League in the first place.

Yes he clearly kicked the little * right in front of the ref. changed the game. Foolish. And petulant.

No chance, nothing in it. He was sent off because of that cheating * reaction, nothing more.

I dont think that is true.I think his toe grazed Neymars back which is why he followed through in the way he did......appearing to kick thin air under his arm.It would account for Neyars exaggeration after the contact and the strange way his leg went through the way it did.

I think he meant to give him a sly wee effectively harmless kick....and he was caught doing it.

I have been saying this for years, what brown does best is get into player minds and spoils there game.
The thing about tonight is he did something stupid and got caught.
For me its not so much what he was doing but how he tried to do it.

Well I would say that pulling out a yellow card to book him, then having been surrounded by Barcelona players change his mind and pull out a red without speaking to anyone else would pretty much speak for itself.

Although clearly this explanation will not suffice for you as you've already made your mind up on the matter.

Wheres the GIF so I can make my mind up for certain because as far as I remember he hardly touched him. Really surprised at you all saying it was a deserved straight red.

The challenge is a yellow what brown done after that was a red, idiotic decision from our captain.

Brown knew what he was doing and was hoping that the referee would somehow not see it, despite the inevitable exaggeration that was going to come from Neymar.

The fact that Scott did not protest when the ref flashed the red says it all. He just stood there looking at him for half a minute and then trudged off. Mulgrew put his hands on his head, but I highly doubt he saw it properly when it was happening live.

Stupid from Brown but iMO it was a yellow even the ref thought that until the barca players surrounded him doesn't help that the wee cheating * neymar was rolling around like he'd been shot in the back even though Brown kicked his arm

jesus, green tinted specs on tonight, he deliberately kicked him, that is undeniable, therefore, red card for Violent conduct.

Other way around and we'd be screaming for a red.

Exactly what I was thinking. Was a good tactical foul, worth the yellow card then for reasons unknown Brown decided to have a kick at the guy? I like Brown but he needs to be smarter about what he does off the ball as it can cost us, sometimes dearly.
