http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ited-City-plans-sign-10m-Celtic-defender.html
Article's from last month but I thought the bit about being part of a family was nice. Sounds like they're settled here so hopefully he's here for another season or two at least. :celt_2:
Discuss Virgil's girlfriend could scupper United and City plans to sign defender in the Celtic Chat area at TalkCeltic.net.

First thought when i seen Rike was "Wid" now after her kind words and efforts to keep the flying dutchman at CP my thoughts are now "Deffos wid"

She'd fall in love with London or Manchester just as easily.
I'd love to keep hold of him for another year. I think he is fantastic and, like Wanyama, would be practically impossible to replace in the market we're forced to work in.
I can't see many flaws in his game. He is maybe a bit over-eager to stick his foot in for a tackle. To be fair, he gets the ball 9/10 times in Scotland, but the better quality of players down in England might lead to him making more fouls, getting more bookings etc. Not unlike Boumsong when he moved from Rangers to Newcastle.
I think he is ready-made for Liverpool or Arsenal. Both like to attack and both have great quality going forward, but could improve their defence. -

Nice to see that they are really happy in glasgow..
Sadly I don't see the love of glasgow stopping them from moving to one of the big guns in london or manchester..
It does help howver when your trying to get top dollar, knowing a player is not forcing a move..
Means we can hopefully drive for top whack when the time does come..
15 mill for this guy,or nothing in my book..
Especially if and when he obviously does keep on improving next season..
I'm confident we'll get another season out of the big man! -
They're staying in one of my gaffers houses and they love it by all accounts.
End of the day though it won't really matter when push comes to shove, the EPL and its riches will lure him away eventually.
His lease runs out in December of this year, for what it's worth.... -
"Land him for £10m" :56::56::56: aye right double it ya bams :bbpd:

I think he's a great player, but 10/15 million is being quoted. I can't see it unfortunately.

He will be off in the summer i think.
£8m will seal it. -
Big Virgil must destroy her every night lol! -
Heard this before with Keane and Hooper. If he wants a move , he'll move.
-
-
He'll likely not go for under 10. -

10 mil isn't really on the cards

He's a more talented player than Wanyama (at least in my opinion) whom we sold for £12.5m, he's still got 3 years left on his contract, by all accounts Virgil doesn't want to leave and the board have a recent history of obtaining excellent fees for our most sellable assets.
So why are people suddenly sure the board will sell as soon as anything close to £8m comes in? Utter madness to suggest that and an opinion based on nothing, really.
