    Kinda sums up English football this one. Southampton are a pishy mid table English club. They won't go down but will get nowhere near the European places. Virgil has spat the dummy and doesn't want to play for them but because sky have given this mediocre * 100 million plus they don't have to sell. Think they will, but they don't have to. Teams used to become cash ritch by achieving success and attracting fans, in England they get it for just existing

    Is he going or not ffs, we want our cash! Would be pretty disastrous internally for Southampton if they didn't manage to sell him before the window shuts. Relations between VVD and the club are well beyond the point of repair.

    To be fair, I think this is a harsh post. Southampton have built themselves up through developing their own academy players and selling them on, as well as the obvious cash riches of the EPL.

    They could have let him go earlier, and found a replacement. Now, a replacement is unlikely. As people have said previously, they do not have to sell. TV deals are insane in England. Virgil is unhappy, but if he can't play for Liverpool, and won't play for Southampton, then what is left?

    If it wasnt for us getting a slice of the pie id want them to sit his huffy * on the bench for the season. Dont sign 5 year contracts. Wanyama knew that. Vvd wanted higher wages security and his move. Cant have it all.

    They could easily sell Virgil for £80 million then buy Sviatchenko for £20 million.
    Sounds like a deal.
