You need to either improve your German or stop using Google Translate, ffs even Mr. Kuntz is better at it :86:

Anyway if we lose Wanyama to Southampton I think he can be replaced by Kayal. He is the only one at the club right now who can replace Victor, and I dont think we will be signing a new DM during the summer either.

A number of Celtic fans being very dismissive of Morgan Schneiderlin in this thread.

He was the top tackling and intercepting defensive midfielder in the top European leagues (Spain, England, Italy, Germany, France) this season. He also covered more miles than any other Premier League player.

A stats comparison from March with other Premier League defensive midfielders...

Schneiderlin's domestic stats are against Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool etc not St Mirren, St Johnstone, Partick Thistle.

Schneiderlin and Wanyama would be a very good central midfield partnership.

To be fairly honest, I don't think any of us really care about Schneiderlin

£12m... we could have held out for at least £14m.

But then again, I suppose we can't complain too much when we signed him for less than £1m two years ago.

    And Barca, Benifca, Spartak Moscow.

He's a good player, Vic is just better. You'll agree with me in a few months if you do end up signing him. Imo right now he's already close to being the best DM in the UK.

I said domestic stats. Are Barca, Benfica and Spartak Moscow in Scotland?

That is 6 European games in a year.

Schneiderlin played Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton twice each. That is 14 games, and could even include some other good Premier League sides.

    - Schneiderlin is the top tackling and top intercepting defensive midfielder in the top European leagues (Spain, England, France, Italy, Germany) over 38 games and also covered more miles than any other Premier League player.
    - Where as Wanyama has only had a handful of games to prove himself at a high level.

All 19 Premier League teams last season that Schneiderlin faced are better than any of the 11 teams Wanyama faced in the SPL.

I'm not doubting Wanyama is a good player, but Schneiderlin is out performing him in terms of tackles, goals, interceptions and miles covered, whilst playing in a higher quality league.

Did Scheiderlin play for Soton this season? I assumed he'd only moved there this summer.

He joined Southampton in 2008 when he was 18 years old.

One of our longest-serving players. Been here since before we were relegated to League One.

How did he do in terms of outpassing or outscoring Wanyama? You do realise that Celtic midfielders have the ball that * much that we rarely need to stick a tackle in, aye?

Was also 12 European games Wanyama participated in this season, by the way. Looking at how the likes of Man City performed in Europe last year then you should see why it's not really a thing to boast about playing against them or Chelsea for that matter.
