Bristol City have been linked with a move for Dutch international striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.
Hesselink, 30, was released by Celtic last week and is reportedly weighing up an offer to join City after turning down former club PSV Eindhoven.
Bristol City boss Gary Johnson is still keen on recruiting a proven targetman following the departure of Dele Adebola and Hesselink, who has featured 27 times for the Holland national side, fits the bill.

If he does go to bristol city i hope he does well though. -
He would be lucky to get a game for Stalybridge celtic.
Done well at first at celtic but he has no pace and is injury prone. Retirement would be his best option. -

Vennegoor on his day can be a very good striker/targetman.
He had a bad year with us, yes but so did alot of our players who will remain in our first team next year i.e McGeady.
He could do a job for an EPL team cos he wouldn't be getting closed down as much down there as what is done up here.
Bristol City are having a laugh if this is even slightly true. -
I don't think jvoh would score more than 10 per season down in the epl. He is not quick enough. Target me like Davies at bolton have more strength and pace.
All about opinions but i don't think he can hack it and wouldn't be surprised to see him at a team like Bristol.
