To be fair if we get Weah and have Edouard it allows us to take a wee gamble on somebody from a more obscure league. These types are players are back where we should be shopping instead of the premier league reject bin. There is loads of good players playing at levels below themself and need to be snapped up but it means doing actual scouting unlike the * we have been doing recently.

If we have Weah and Edouard, I think we need another striker with experience at a decent level.

He's 21 years old and has 18 goals and 7 assists in total this season. (23 games)
3 goals in 4 Europa League Qualifiers, 5 in the cup.

In total for the club it's 22 goals in 32 games with 9 assists, which means he's not played that much in terms of game experience.

11 games in the Tunisian league on top of that means he's got limited experience, but playing for the Ivory Coast is a good sign.

1 goal in 4 for the Ivory Coast U23's and already has a couple of caps for the full national side.

The roots thing I'm not having, I don't have a problem with a guy born and then at a young age learns his trade in Europe.

Listen I'm not a fan, hopefully I'm proved wrong but the facts don't lie, not just in Scotland but Britain as a whole, there ain't many top teams with Africans in them, BTW, Bailly? You need to speak with Man U fans on him.

I just don't think they suit our waters.

The team that sits 9 points clear at the top of the EPL have 4 Africans. 2 being Salah and Mane.

    Much did they cost?

I've always liked Salah from way back at Basel, thought maybe we should move for him, then Chelsea bid something like £12m.

We need a tried and tested forward, not someone who might turn out to be a player.

Not every African player is *, I get that, I'm saying in my eyes they don't have as many top players as they should and for me not the best suit for British football, I'm not a fan of their attitude either.

And whacking off names of guys that cost £50m is not going to make much sense in a Celtic forum. There is also the very small minute point of work permits. So we can't get Salah, Mane and George Weah at an early stage.

We can't afford tried and tested. We won't sign a VVD or Wanyama once they are proven. We buy young talent from obscure clubs and develop them. Our best players of the last decade have come this way. This boy is 21 and ready.

I agree, but we can look at more experienced players most probably from abroad, we'll just need to maybe pay a few million for someone we won't get money back on once in a while.

I don't belive this squad needs a 21 year old striker at the moment. Just as it won't need a young CB or Midfielder.

I'm all for this in regards to epl nothing wrong getting a blue chip signing once every 2 to 3 seasons examples dembele sinclair but vast majority of out targets should be from outside as its a hard league to deal in.... Been very much our problem with recruitment at the minute..... Best example Powell running his contract down celtic can get him for buttons in Jan or free for summer that's a great bit of potential business but if it comes to paying 7 million for a bench warmer from England it's too much of a gamble

Don't think he's entirely talking pish his opinion do I agree no but I accept that the statement has some truths to it.... Then again any signing is a gamble these days

If you had said this was yer point at the start and no just went on aboot Africa being a * continent for producing footballers.

Problem is getting a guy with good league experience in January will cost a fortune.
