My first name is already in Irish (Dónal) and my second name in Irish translates to Ó Laoire, I wouldnt officialy change it though seeing as I've been O'Leary my whole life.

de Paor or Power, your name is a waterford name, your family would have come from waterford originally, theres an old irish saying, "Beidh lá eile ag an bPaorach! which means, "the Powers will have their day", a phrase which originated from the Power / de Paor tribe from Waterford, but it's used in modern Ireland in the context, "our day will come", another way of saying "Tiocfaidh ár lá"...:50::celt_2:

Sean (Seán more correctly) works, but it's not purely Gaelic because it comes from the then-Norman Jean. The accent should be there because, if I recall correctly, without the á it would be pronounced "Shane" I think.

You sir..are my hero. I've always wondered about my ancestory but my family has such an American attitude on the subject.
