Federer was flawless in the first, Murray looked far better in the second.

Fingers crossed he pulls this set out here and Federer gets complacent, that shocking call in the second would have meant Andy would have been a break up....fine, fine margins!

The extra days rest is greatly benefiting Federer and Murray just can't compete with an on-fire Federer.. It's basically all over..

That point in the 2nd set 0 - 40 game on Fed's serve when the ball was out made such a difference. But the guy is a class act, don't get me wrong.

Aye maybe he'll give it to Rod Petrie fot the Hibs kitty!

So proud of Andy Murray and we can expect to see a lot more. Being a Scot is all about ups and downs.....Nadal...Macedonia...Federer...Iceland!!

Got to give a mention to Federer who I've never seen any sportsman play so well since Maradonna in 86'.

Well played Andy. Done Scotland proud. The performance against Nadal in the semi-final is one of the sporting highlights of the year. :50::scotland:

    Defo:50:

Aparently on talk sport Stan Collymore has been going on about the Scotland v England thing and going for Federer. So it clearly rattled his cage anyway:icon_mrgreen:

I loved Andys interview before the match rhyming off all of Rogers achievements then their like and their criticising that guy how can this be?

Well Done to Andy the shots he was pulling off against Nadal was amazing and I always thought the extra days rest would take its toll to be honest. Well Done To the Grestest ever imo Roger Federer.

Trust the Americans to announce the prize money lol. It's hard to believe sometimes in sports like Tennis, Snooker and Football where the guys you're shouting on are millionaires or on the way anyway.

glad murray lost, sick of his horrible arrogant persona , his face would crack if the * head smiled ... on the other hand fedderer is humble in victory and gracius in defeat and as as we seen in wimbledon always has a smile ,win or lose, the man is an excellent ambassador to sports people where murray is the opposite , never mind having to listen to the (english pundits) about murray magic this and murray magic that .

Well done Andy Murray! It was always going to be some ask to beat an on form Nadal and then Federer in consecutive matches. It might not be impossible in the future.

Murray is class and a breathe of fresh air for tennis imo. He is something a bit different to the rest, and just because he doesn't suck all the other players * all the time, doesnt make him a bad guy. Federer can be arrogant as well he refused to stay in the olympic village because he was getting asked for his autograph too much ffs! I bet you Murray is no different off screen to on it, and i bet you can't say that about many other high profile sportsmen i.e Roger "my * doesnt stink" Federer.

Worst year for Federer since 2003: a GS, 2 GS finals and a GS semifinal. A gold medal in the Olympics and two tournaments (Halle and Estoril).

Definitely best player ever. I hope he wins RG one day so there's no doubt he surpassed Sampras.
