I personally apologise for bashing the wrestling. My own particular reason was i was sort of under the impression that many of you actually believed it.....which i could not understand.I found it frustrating to see a guy whom i had previously respected because of his posts in other threads, then post seemingly serious posts in the WWE thread!!!I just couldnt get my head around it......but it seems you all know it is fake and watch it as some kind of soap opera, which i can understand a bit better.

There is a massive amount of skill in pro wrestling, even though it is very much a panto. I enjoy it as a guilty pleasure that I think comes from the fact I grew up with it. That said, I dont watch it that often and prefer UFC, but the two arent at loggerheads. It is just a bit of fun, like watching 99% of things on tv. I can understand peope not liking any form of fiction but it is odd for people to rip on wrestling for being "fake" but would happily watch all those "fake" films, read "fake" books, and watch "fake" tv shows.

And the blood was always real not fake. Typically wrestlers would cut their foreheads to simulate a particularly hard shot. Nowadays the WWE has a no blood policy to cater for its PG rating.

This is very true, from a business perspective at least> Dana White has paid great credit to McMahon in the past, and didnt Shane do some work for UFC in the past?

Okay. WWE was denigrated in this thread before I mentioned anything about it. You've got your views on wrestling. Fair enough. However, if you don't understand why older people, such as myself like it (and it's certainly not because I believe it to be real), then I don't think you should be bashing anyone for it.

Lesnar went from WWE star to MMA and became heavyweight champion...??! Understandably, I don't understand that last point. Many of the guys that wrestle in "sports entertainment" have decorated * wrestling backgrounds (Kurt Angle won a gold at the Olympics) or practice martial arts. To dismiss these guys as fakes is beyond hilarious, in my opinion. They spend years learning their art and the business. If they make one wrong move, they could end their own or someone else's career. In the case of ex-WWE star Darren Drozdov, the guy was involved in a botched move attempt and now spends his life in a wheelchair, eating through a straw.

On the Lesnar v Overeem fight. I don't believe he threw the fight. As Hammer stated, anyone who suffered an illness like he did is going to have something huge taken away from him. He should never have returned to the octagon.

    What is the best UFC?

I see one last month on ESPN UFC 114 I think it was and it was brilliant, is that one of the classic ones and are there others?

I dont know about other people, but i tend to remember individual fights rather than whole evenings cards.Ive seen them all since about UFC 45 or something, so i really havent a clue which is best. However, there is almost always a couple of great fights on every card.
