Terrible game, have to say that guy Majer was absolute *, summed up his night.

 

I have thought international football has been a bit * for a while. I think, but could easily be wrong, you used to see the best players with the best coaches at national teams. Management was often about lifting your players, being a motivator. These days the game is much more tactician based, the best managers are also generally at big paying clubs too. Managers like Ancelloti, Guardiola and Klopp spend time embedding systems into players, time international managers don't have. They have to man manage and motivate players who are used to playing completely different systems and players appear to have bigger egos (obviously not all) too, motivating them must be tough.
So now CL will likely show more entertaining football than any World cup.

Couldn’t agree more mate. Also think a lot of footballers these days just don’t care about international football and it’s just become a bit of a chore for them so they go through the motions.

 

Yeah do wonder if some turn up basically because they have to and probably because sponsors like it. I get the impression that Scotland players actually want to be there which is the advantage we have.

 

When you see the nick of some of these groups makes what Scotland are doing even better. Some of them only have one good team, couple average and minnow.

Scotland, Spain, Norway, Georgia all decent. Would’ve taken pretty much all the other groups beforehand bar the England and France ones. Even then thoug I think we’d nick some points against the big teams in them groups.

 

Cyprus are as tough a 5th seed you could get too. But yeah groups are uneven, I mean one group has France and Holland, another Italy and England.
