Hooiveld is gone. Signed for Southampton permanently a few weeks ago.

El Kaddouri will also be returning to his parent club in January.

 

Yeah it could certainly spur us on.

Although personally I'd settle for 3 points at McDiarmid Park in three days' time...

 

The league is ours i know we are going to really rwoip rangers apart i can feel it after that performance tonight my confidence is back 110% behind neil and thge BHOYS .

excellent performance all in all tonight! if we can play these teams ability wise why cant we play them more often instead of running scared like we usually do

i guess the problem is to do with the lack of quality opposition up here in scotland

we all know that most of the players celtic have had through the years can play at a higher level than at celtic and the SPL most notably because we have signed them from bigger european leagues! but so often infact... the majority of occcasions they fail to play to their potential

but excellent display tonight especially first half where we outplayed the serie A 2nd placed team pity we were blowing through our arses in the 2nd half though lol

Defo, no more squad players, we've done (well, Lenny's done) fantastically with transfers and scouting but no more free signings or loan deals or anything like that, splash out a few million on someone decent.

We need 2 top quality centre backs and myabe another striker as well, although Hooper is great, Stokes can be really good, his form has dipped recently, and Bangura should come good if he gets more time and a goal under his belt.

I'd quite like to see what Sammy can do upfront as well, given his recent from on the wing, maybe he can finally get back to goalscoring form?

But definitely, DEFINITELY the defence. Maj has been pretty unfaultable the last 4 or 5 weeks, only mistake I think he made tonight was a poor slide against Di Natale which totally missed the ball and let him in to stirke, fantastic save by Forster saved him and us that time.

But even with Maj's improved form, he's far from the best defender and 35 or something odd as well, so not one for the future team we're building.
I want 2 top centre backs in January, or 1 at the very least, then see where we're at because with a decent central pairing, Izzy and Matthews back fit on the left (with Mulgrew and Wilson decent cover there) we can and should be a really good team I think.

 

Not calling bangura poor mate, I think he'll be very good.
We are being linked with Luke Chambers, Francisco Sandaza and some other guy Ive never heard of that used to play at man united as a boy.
We need to get the * out of that garden and fork out the cash for Baba and Juhasz.

 

Agree we have a really good team in the making with 2/3 quality additions. The defence for years has always been our weakest link, we need to fix that.

 

It really is that simple. 2 quality signings and we're up there with being as good as the likes of Benfica , Bayer Leverkusen IMO.

 

Yeah agree with you, i think with the addition of our new right back and izzy fit i think there is a really good defence in there with kelvin, mulgrew,and poss wayamma as poss Cb

 

You make a valid point there, i have watched both leverkusen and benfica in most of their matches, we are not far off that level, people will point to them playing in better leagues, but just because they have fancy names in their squads doesn't mean the players are a whole lot better.

In a few positions these teams have a better standard of player, if we can bring in a couple of those types of players then we can match these teams. Bring us up to the level where we really should be competing at.

Competing with benfica, leverkusen, cska moscow, basel, marseille, etc...
these teams are not miles better than we are.

 

Ki has been terrible this season and was nothing special tonight.

 

very proud of the bhoys tonight, can't fault any of the players (though ffs what was cha playing at for their goal? ) though forster and samaras (in the first half) were absolute stand outs.

such a bad time to concede a goal, really think udinese were there for the taking if we had just held on to that lead at half time

certainly no disgrace, and its a sobering thought to think that but for that dodgy last minute penalty they got in glasgow we would have went through

oh, and would you believe it, right on full time, two police officers came into the pub i was watching the game asking the bar staff "any trouble" only for them to be given short shrift; law has been in force one day and they are already at it.

I just stayed up all night;; little worried about my today;; but happy to watch the game.

And I think we did very well tonight, against the strong team.
Samaras and Forster were so brilliant but
I do want to give a big hand to all the players tonight, think they did their very best and I'm happy with that.

 

Well unlike some on here i was * proud of the guys tonight.

We made a top italian team look average andcwe should have beaten them.sammy and forrest were excelllent especialy the big guy in goals he was flawless and by far his best game for us.

Cha played well aswell and made a mistake ok fair enough we all make them.proud of the effort and we were superb in that group.

Now for the gremlins and get our title back and get back into the big league.

To be fair, I don't believe Brown ever recovered in our support over suspicions of being a Hun in his first season. People have been left with a residual and maybe unconscious dislike for him since he joined.

 

Trust me, mate. Hes far from my favourite player, it just gets to me that he is torn to shred week in and week out when alot of the time it is unjust.

 

I thought we played well and were very unlucky. Proud of the bhoys! Lets hope we get right back into it at weekend and get this league back where it belongs!!
