    Aye, we should have been going back to Parkhead with a 3-1 lead from the away tie.

    * unreal.

    The result away from home was a pretty good one. To lose at home to them was absolutely awful. I think Berget was the only player we had brought in at that point.

    The phrase 'the goal was coming' was made for the return leg when Tavares scuffed it in..

    Same. Been wanting them ever since. I was distraught at the result then it was worse when they got Chelsea Schalke and Sporting. One of the handiest Groups ever

    That team was and should have been strong enough to knock them out two lapses of defensive concentration cost celtic regardless of the feeble attempt away from home

    * about with Boyata and not bringing in a replacement for him cost us last year against AEK. Jack Hendry started both games, says it all. No having a fit Dembele didn't help either. Oh aye, and not replacing Lustig who's legs looked gone even then. The summer transfer window last year was nothing short of an embarrassment and the board cost us the riches that come along with the Champions League, and then felt they had to sell Dembele to make up for it. We didn't learn from the Maribor debacle and lost out on millions once again due to the boards incompetence.

    Losing to maribor has nothing to do with last year the board brendan were all culpable last year with the strategy and man management of players..... In regards to maribor our squad was and should have been good enough to see them off we were up 3 nil at one point poor coaching and the way defensive players performed cost us

    Think you’re talking about Malmo mate?

    What a sickener that game was btw. Never felt so deflated after a win.

    Mind Malmo away as well, Bitton scored a header to equalise and it was disallowed for something even though nobody was near anybody. That probably robbed of us reaching the Group Stage as they scored soon after meaning rather it being 1-1 and them under pressure we ended up 2-0 down and needed 2 goals.

    I remember it well.

    They were trying to claim it was a push I think. Ridiculous decision. We were pish in that game though.

    That whole tie sickens me to this day tbh. I know it was * to go out over the years to the likes of Artmedia, Maribor etc but that one was just a a whole different level of sickening - from their * of a manager, to that clown Berget scoring two goals out of nowhere at Parkhead, to that gutless surrender in Malmo. Felt like the season had ended before it had started.

    The funny thing is, I thought that both of the away games against Maribor and Malmo, we were all over the both of them. Thought we were easily the better team but ended up just absolutely bottling it,

    Saturday night pished thoughts.

    Nah away v Maribor we were atrocious on the ball. They never looked like scoring but neither did we. Malmö we actually should've won but some ridiculous decisions from the ref and Johansen were to blame ultimately.
