Ah, that's the one.....now you mention it.... I mind talking to a couple of Anderlecht fans with their two teenage kids on the way up from Dalmarnock station about the situation :50:

Have to say I am not afraid of anyone the way this Celtic team are playing just now. Even if / when we get beat I believe we will be able to hold our heads up high. What a great time to follow the Bhoys. Hail hail St. Brendan !

    I'm cautiously confident.

I admire Scandinavian teams because they are legendary underdogs and have such a pedigree that I imagine it's always possible for them to raise their game, especially if they see our defensive vulnerabilities it might give them confidence to attack.

That should suit us though as Eddy and Jamesy Bhoy demonstrated the other night, if you lose the ball against us our attacking players are buzzing so much right now there's every chance 5 seconds later you're a goal down.

Imagine what we'll be like when big Tam is back, Tierney, McGregor, Rogic, Eddy, Moussa and Forrest. That is a toure de force nevermind Ntcham and Broony adding a backbone. Big FLAjer could be included in our attacking players he's so positive. We do have quite a decent team when Ajer is our 9th or 10th best player. Also, looking forward to Dedryck coming back because even though I've slated him I appreciate he's a very good defender as long as he doesn't try anything fancy.

I actually think that should be our defensive instructions in qualifying and beyond if we're successful. Even average teams will keep players up high when the keeper or defenders have the ball cause they know they'll at least once telegraph a pass to be intercepted.

I'm looking forward to next week and we should win but I'm convinced they will score. Would love us to finish the tie first leg.

I guess this is where qualifying gets serious.

As someone who lives in Scandinavia, I say the opposite can happen. They can also underachieve heavily and shame themselves against weak opposition. The most expensive side of Sweden lost yesterday to Shamrock Rovers at home. Their light-heartness means they often dont have the effort to turn things around. But their teams are indeed extremely professional, slick, fit and with a lot of effort.

I agree also that not allowing them to build confidence will be vital. If we do like last season, don't build a result at home, we will be in trouble. Last year we were rescued by a marvelous individual effort by Forrest in a game we didn't exactly deserve to win. Better not to play with the luck again

We should be winning 2-0 or 3-0 here. Why do we always have the home tie first

Rosenborg last year and Astana last year, hapoel the year before, and then karabag and malmo the year before. Seems more often we are home first for the more important qualifiers

    * it, I'm going with the over-confidence thing as well. 4-0 to us at home.

Nothing bad has ever came out of being over-confident.

With the away goal rule, I even believe playing at home first is an advantage

I think that too, if you can get any kind of win and keep a clean sheet, your then in pole position to qualify. Even a 1-0 win at home as then all your really needing to do in the away game is score and that’s the tie pretty much over.
