Am I alone in feeling that there will be ALOT more drama as the rest of the season unfolds in the next few months?
We all know a 10 point gap (with the huns having a game in hand) is a * of a defecit to overturn, but stranger things have happened in football, bigger gaps have been closed. I sincerely feel that if we don't win the league, we will run the huns VERY close. 10 games to go, 30 points up for grabs. I don't feel the huns will win all of those games without some form of blatant, out and out cheating from the refs and linesmen which will make our boards hand stronger in this battle against the SFA...so as the thread title suggest, we are in for far more twists and turns.
What's the general consensus on the forum? I get the impression that most of you feel that Rangers will drop points but lack the confidence that we will be consistant enough to win the points ourselves to keep the pressure on, am I right? If so I don't blame you, but maybe it's just the over eager optimist in me, but I think that the title is still there to be won and I don't believe for a second that we're going to lie down and accept that the huns have done 2 in a row.
It is possible that the huns will take their foot off the gas as it would seem they're already celebrating as the 'meeja' have completely written us off after the last OF game.
It is only a glimmering, slight chance, but as MoN always said, when we were running away with the league..."we've won nothing yet until it is mathematically impossible for us to lose"
When we came roaring back with a run of winning games to take 3 in a row, the same sort of apathy was amongst our fans before that run, as it is now, no supporters believed it could be done bar a select few who were ridiculed by their own kind. I remember the league being over about 3 times for us, atleast, that year.
Rangers may not lose, but even a series of draws will have a HUGE impact on their mentality and hopefully a positive one on us.
There's no doubt that we're up against it like never before. The 'meeja', the men in black right upto the top beaks in the *' SFA have it in for us. They can do everything in their power to stop us but if we keep on battling right to the end, it'll be the greatest and sweetest title to win in my lifetime to date.
It'll be undoubtably hard, but it's not impossible.

Problem is, every time they have dropped points, our inconsistency means we have failed to capitalise and build pressure on them ! Would like to see us put a wee run together and see what happens ? Who knows , a couple of injuries to Bougy and Weir ! I still live in hope, and it isn't over till its over but i think the fat lady has begun warming up ! Would love to be proved wrong !! C'mon the Hoops !

Lets accept the leagues over and we start to build for next season, christ Weir is 72 on his next birthday and your hoping he gets injuried to give us a chance, it's been a very poor season for the tic, so get the wheels in motion to keep Keano and prepare a POA to hammer the huns 2010/2011 -
Sadly the league is gone for this season :54:

The point of my thread is to breed positivity!
It's not mathematically impossible to win the league, therefore, there is still the chance! -
Yes. Though looking at the table; out of their 11 remaining games, 7 of them are away.
The Huns won't lose more than 2 games, and we won't win all of ours. We just have to focus on the cup.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 8, 2010 -

Realistically we should be taking maximum points from every single one of those games, with the Easter Road game the only one that should pose a problem.

They have a tough home game against the Dons and then three very difficult away games. Will be interesting to see how the Jimmy's set their team out against them in tuesday! -

clueless
What has made you come to this view????? it is not on the park the way we are playing, that is for sure, because as you see it from our play, then you must be watching some other team, from front to back this team is a shambles, some comfort in players playing as an individual, but as a team it just leaks, making mistakes that cost us dear in front middle and back.
This manager has a 4 yr contract????? are these so called directors nuts???? I said in a thread how we don't build from strenght and how they[huns] will get someone in to buy them and wipe thier debt out then have money to buy more and better players, and we will be left standing while we go back, which is where we are just now.
This board should be put under pressure for the blame and situation we are in,I watched the game yesterday and cringe at the thought of playing against decent teams in Europe with his tactics or lack of,I was not a detractor of his at the start but watching him unfold our team has changed my mind clueless and board as well. -
We'll win nothing while Samaras is in the starting line-up.
Huns have won the league. Smith has motivated a mediocre pool to be efficient and to think and play like a team. At the same time we put a team on the park with 21 changes during since TM arrived (13 out 8 in). That level of player turn around should have been done during the summer not in the middle of the season.
Keane won't be here next season. How many of the other loan players will want to stay?Last edited by a moderator: Mar 8, 2010 -

Concentrate on winning the cup, it is unthinkable that a treble is still on for that lot!

Nothing has changed just because of a win away to the team at the bottom of the league. They need 21 points from their remaining 11 games (probably 20 would do because of the goal difference) that is if we take a maximum 30 from ten games. That means either 7 wins & 4 defeats or 6 wins 3 draws and 2 defeats or 5 wins & 6 draws. Agreed that it is still mathimaticly possible, but extremely unlikely. A cup win to deprive them of a treble is all we can reasonably look forwar to now
-
They are going to drop points just to rub in exactly why we should be much closer.
The sad thing is though that we're gonna drop just as many. -
It's not over till it's over!

I think it is as good as over. We are 10 points possibly 13 after tuesday behind rangers. Utd are 6 behind us so are they still in the race for 2nd. I think they will drop points but they will draw rather than lose and i just can't see us getting maximum points in the run in. We badly need to win the cup and hopefully beat them in the final to send out a message for next season.

unless the potential buyer is daft himself. i heard this guy wanted to move QPR 30 miles away and couldn't understand why the supporters spit the dummy. maybe he'll move the huns to iceland -
My heart says there is still a chance but my head tells me the best we can do is close the gap and win the Scottish cup.
I am going to follow my heart though!!! Mon the hoops!!!!
Couldn't handle a trophyless season!! -

Our run in to the spilt is relatively simple apart from Hibs away. Rangers however, need to travel to Tannadice and Tynecastle, and as i believe have Aberdeen at home. They are away to Kilmarnok tommorow night. Who know's, call it false hope, but all we can do is sit and wait and hope on the Hun's dropping points.
Also, hope we can beat Kilmarnock on Saturday and hopefully be there are Hampden at the end of the season. Hope we get them in the final and scupper any chances of a treble which they think they will stroll....
