What just now!

 

Just been to my local asda forgot it was a bank holiday as I'm off every Monday, was mobbed and the amount of folk with the trolleys side by side shopping together who stop in the middle of the aisle can't get past them and a queue forms behind, selfish behaviour I always try to be courteous when shopping but there was a couple of times I felt like saying something but as I'm a wimp I didn't

After months of moaning about how the economy was in freefall and our local shops were in danger of closing down due to lack of customers. We went to cumbernauld centre this morning and the shops didn't open till 11.00 due to bank holiday. There just back off furlough and been moaning like * through it.......

Pulling the early shift at the polling station so up at 4.30 in the morning to be there in time for them setting up and overseeing its all above board, made worse because you know you also have the close of election shift to do tomorrow evening before they take the boxes away, one long * day.

 

Is some * making you do it or are you being paid? Did you know the hours before you signed up?

 

Nah its voluntary, no financial gain.

He will be meaning being there as a party member as an observer, I'm guessing.

People working at elections: clerks, counters, presiding officers etc get paid.

 

My sister who worked for the council was paid overtime for doing it and doing the count. It was about 10 years ago though so things might have changed.

 

As Marty said mate no pay for doing that. The election/polling staff get paid although I don't know how much they get.
