This has annoyed me on and off for years.

We're in the 21st century. That's fine. I understand that.

I just wish there was a way to even explain why I'm annoyed at it.

Oooh... For example, I heard a question on the radio, I think, earlier that asked about something that happened in the year 1623 (not accurate at all, as nothing happened in that year :84:).

But, in a quiz, relating to the past, the question is normally always "which century did..." if you think the 1600's - your pea sized brain normally blurts out 16th - which is wrong as it's always in front.

However, relating to decades, it's different.

Anyone even slightly understand what I mean?

It just annoys me and I don't know really why :56:

And no ya *, I never lost on trivial pursuit or something of the like this Christmas time :84:

    Let the people sing.
00 - 100 is the 1st century so we always appear behind kind of.
A bit like even though, say your 25, your in your 26th year.

I know why... It just does my * in why we always say it. Can we not come up with something that describes the moment we're in (not "the present" :84:).

I mean, that when someone asks something, we should have a saying where we describe now as the * 20th _____

Irritating for no reason I can explain :56:

When 'an' is needlessly used instead of 'a' - such as 'an historical'.
