padraig you continually point out how superior a celtic fan you are to others,..having a diffrent opinon doesnt make you so..neither does blindly supporting an incompetent manager because he was a decent player in a great team!

Did he not leave with Martin O'Neill?

People are now being called disloyal for wanting rid of Lennon. I am loyal to Celtic but not to a manager who should not have been given the job in the first place. Club must always be put before manager.

    Near enough, you're splitting hairs.

You're just being completely pernickety for the sake of it.

no mate he left later but he did go down south though i doubt thru choice... truth is Neil did a very good thankless job in a great Celtic team.. i wouldnt call him a legend though..& apart from a few months at the turn of this year his spell has been a disaster & only the most utterly devoted disciple of the lennon cult can fail to see that now!!

no one disputes that if things dont pick up then yes Neil will likely be clinging on to his job; but sacking a manager this early in the season? it wont help matters at all imo.

i reckon if things havent picked up by the next OF game (which is just before the transfer window opens) then we'll probably see a change, and I don't doubt for one minute that Neil will understand why more than anyone.

but until then, i'm not ready to totally write this team and its manager off; call me blinded by faith or whatever but throwing neil under the bus at this moment will not help matters at all. then we'd likely have weeks of the board fannying around in time honoured celtic fashion looking for a replacement and then we'd probably end up appointing someone out of desperation.

the way i see it, the next 10 spl games are crucial for neil. after that, we'll see.

    I'm 100% behind Lennon.

I've seen teams 7 points behind (we are potentially 7 behind) with less than a quarter of a season to go, and still winning the title.

The mass panic is astonishing, and totally exaggerated.

The press/media are having a field day because they see an opening to bury knives into our manager, like they do at every opportunity. Don't take their bait. They are making a crisis out of a drama.

Neil Lennon showed us courage and a brand of football to make our chests puff out at being Celtic fans last season. He deserves the right to turn this season around.

We are all Neil Lennon, well most of us anyway.

i know you never mate, i meant some of the posters on here, not you specifically :50:

if NL ever comes to a decision where he thinks he isn't up to it i'm sure we'll know sooner or later; and if celtic are further behind by the next OF game i think it will be very difficult for neil to keep his job is all i'm saying

until that day comes (hopefully no time soon) he has my full support

Should stick behind any Celtic manager, whether it's Lennon or someone not associated with the club before becoming manager unless they are beyond the point of no return. Find it amusing the whole 'legend' status Lennon has with the fans though. I remember Lennon getting abuse constantly by people around me when playing for passing back to the defence, square balls in midfield etc, I remember this happening one night against Barcelona of all teams haha. Makes you wonder where these fans are now if they found reason to abuse a player that would be a star player for us now, but was made to look average in that O'neill side.

Much as i want Neil Lennon to succeed esp after last season - Call me a cynic but Lawwell is in a win win situation here. He was the one who paraded Lennon round some of the Supporters clubs in a Q&A session and he can always turn round and say hey it was you lot who wanted Lennon in the 1st place....Lawwell & Desmond have hung him out to dry what happened to the 2or3 quality signings that were promised esp the Polish Goalkeeper who went to those GIANTS of Belgian football Genk ??

Negativity set in after that defeat for me and there is a niggling thought in the back of my mind that the league is over. We do seem more likely to drop points than them, I've not seen an improvement in our defence. We must get a settled started eleven very quickly too.

Some of the comments directed at Neil Lennon have been * shocking. This man has put his life on the line for the Celtic cause. He provided entertaining football and racked up an amount of points that would usually see us winners, we were only denied by Smith's team grinding out results.

I'm worried, of course I am but some of you need to screw the head. Neil Lennon definitely deserves the opportunity to turn this around for us. Judge him at the end of the season.

He's got my support but will be judged on success like any other manager.

It's easy to see that for some people the words 'We stand behind our leader' and 'We are all Neil Lennon' only extend as far as 2 or 3 bad results. After that all bets are off.

I'm not happy that we are 10pts behind Rangers. Not happy at all. But that doesn't mean I'm going to sharpen my knife and stick it in Neil Lennon's back. Quite frankly, the man deserves a bit more patience, tolerance and understanding than he is receiving from some Celtic fans at the moment.

It's only October. Surely after all the good work Neil Lennon did last season he deserves more leeway than 9 games into the following season before folk are shouting for his head? And that's before we even start taking into consideration that the man put his life on the line for us last season.

There will come a day where Neil Lennon's time as Celtic manager will come to an end. Whether that's through his own choice, or whether he gets sacked, only time will tell. But one thing is for sure, I will never ever resort to dishing out personal abuse/insults towards the man.

He's done far too much for our club to deserve that sort of treatment. If the axe wielding maniacs who want him out now actually sat down and thought about that for a while maybe they'd realise just how ungrateful they sound at the moment.

There IS only one Neil Lennon. :shamrock:

If feel * angry with the players - If anyone of them had the balls or our supposed captain Scott Brown got the players together outwith Lennoxtown or Celtic Park and explained to them that our managers life was threatened and yet he stood by them and stood up to the haters. IT`s about time we * run about for 94mins each week. I would hate to see Neil go and be still left with these diddy`s who caused his sacking.
