All players cost more now than they do on deadline day when clubs try to flog the players away...



Plus, i'd rather take my time and sign the perfect players that we NEED instead of panic buying at the start of the window (why?) and getting 3 * strikers even though you only play 1 and have 4 already

Im in no rush and im quite happy with the names being linked.

 

These are just players linked though - like Lawwell said, we'd only made 2 bids this summer of which one was accepted for Paddy. The other i suspect was for Lafferty. I'd love Stranzl and Rat to join but i suspect also that GS will have to ship out Balde and Gravesen before anyone new will come in. It then depends on these two unfortunately!

A Left Back, a Centre Back and a Striker would be perfect but i also think we need a new defensive Midfielder.

I agree not to panic buy but come on Strach, get your finger oot!

Theres plenty of time, nothing at all to worry about, Lawell says theres targets, and Celtic are notorious for dealing in secret. Dont get me wrong, we'd all like a few new faces, but if we have to wait, then we have to wait.

I am getting really * off at the signings this year!! We have signed 1 player and have been linked with 1,000 players. im sick of getting up in the morning look at the paper to see if we have signed anyone and once again we are linked with someone else we have alot of money this year to spend on transfers and some quality players have came out and said they would play for us and strachen just ignores that we could of had 2/3 good quality players by now but we only have one! we better hurry the * ip and sign someone!

 

Ignore ALL rumours on the papers unless there mentioned one 2 or more different papers.. also on the BBC Gossip only follow the "various" stories.

 

don't belive the hype just cos a paper is saying a player wants to play for us don't take it as gospil

Rat, shouldnt take this long to get a deal with samaras, Im getting that sick of not signing anyone that i would take maloney back, that roma left back, Brighi, and a centre back all of them would either get on the bench or start. At this moment i would take anyone.

 

Personally i would like celtic fc to sign ravzam rat and kerlon from cruzerio which cruzerio are accepting offers over £750,000 which i think is a brilliant price perhaps we should make a petition to see if celtic will sign him. joke lol but might work!

 

Exactly patience is the key here.

 

i'm pretty desperate for a new face but u can't get all worked up and say 'just sign anybody!'. There is no doubt that PL and WGS are at it constantly right now trying to bring people in, but its a bad time and we're going for players who are wanted by more than just ourselves. Most of the paper talk is pish, so don't read them. But u can't get to the point where we get so desperate that we run out and sign a dud. As crap as it sounds, we need to wait. We are being careful with out moeny now, thats why we haven't run out and signed ok players for big money i.e. Kenny Miller. We got him for free, he put in an alright shift for us and we got 3mil for him a season later. Brilliant. 3mil almost all profit, let us buy hinkel and loan big Sammy for no bother. We are good in the money market now, but it takes time. I would rather we didn't sign anyone else and keep the cash, than panic buy, and i am so desperate to see new faces. Paddy might just be a wee star and I hope he represents good business. Friendlies start soon, that'll help, lets just try not to panic.

well peeved that there has been lack of activity regarding players coming in, euro 2008 has been and gone and pre season training has started.

i feel we should have seen 2 or 3 players by now.

the likes of the players we are linked too have been playing in euro 2008 but most of the teams that contain these players were out of it ages ago so why is the process taking so long.

i know some will say something about panic buying but surely we must have a list of players that have been scouted and have been sounded out about moving

anything we see in the papers nowadays aint ever worth reading due to media clutching at straws, and as soon as we are linked with a real target epl teams are straight in about

When it's became Lawwell, Strachan etc.'s fault that the media writes alot of *? They don't give a *, and doing their job as they always do. Talks with agents, clubs etc., and waiting for the right deals to be done.
The majority of the papers rumours are nonsens, and if people don't like the read about it, then don't read anything expect of Celticfc.net

Facts is that Celtic haven't become weaker than last season, and they really don't have to buy players just for buying. If the right deals come along the buy, if they don't, they don't buy.

I really don't care about complaing fans who believe in the medias nonsense, when I know the club works hard day after day, and doing a great job for the club.

Are we not still 2 weeks off our first preseason game? Why worry, the later we wait, the cheaper the players become.

Look at us, we are knocking back bids for Riordan because we think we can get more but if it gets close to the window we'll take what we can get. Other clubs are the same when they are selling players to us.
