    I'm no Oliver Tebily!

Overall that may be our best deadline day since Sky Sports News turned it into a major event. Signing Robbie Keane was exciting, but he were fighting a lost cause at that point in the league (10 points behind The Team Formerly Known As Rangers; Mowbray as manager). I'm really pleased this year.

    Very pleased with the signings

Very pleased with the signing of Lassad too, possibly less attention on him compared to the signing of Miku, but I think Lassad will make a big impact too provided he settles down.

I've watched a lot of La Liga the past few seasons and anyone that watches knows that Miku is a better player than Hooper and all the other strikers we have but he mightn't adapt as well to the SPL and our team as we think he will.....So people picking him ahead of Hooper has every right to do so but should reserve their judgement until he plays like I am even though I know he could be one of our best players. As for Lassad I've only saw him play a few times but he seemed to be a decent player but people who have him ahead of Hooper shouldn't unless they have been watching the second tier of Spanish football the last few seasons which I highly doubt they have been.

Am really happy with way club gone bout business this year, we got rid all deadwood bout and i really think loan signing is only way our club should go now. After what happened with juarez, rass, murphy, we paid good money for these players and had sell or let go for peanuts . After they diddn't settle here or whatever happened. At least if new gk, miku dont settle here, we can sent them back. If they be a success we got fee agreed too sign them like forster this year.

For champs league i'd go with Lassad or Miku,Hooper maybe needs benched just to let him know that now he has real competition he will have to get his fat finger out..before he turns into the next Beattie:54:

4 good signings. very smart brining in the 2 lads on loans to buy. Lassad a decent low risk signing and ambrose a good signing with potential to be very good if he settles in well.

these signings give us a strong squad and will keep everyone on their toes.

Very happy with the new signings,we filled the positions that needed filling with experienced players without breaking the bank, well in Lennon and co i say.Looking forward to seeing them take to the field, especially in CL games.

Some of this pish people are coming out with about Hooper is shocking. He's one of our best players and a fantastic goalscorer. Scored twice in the Champions League for us this season already ffs.

This. Absolute joke. We've not even seen these guys yet and people are dropping Hooper for them.

I thought Hoops has looked quite lean this year actually.

Aye i've got to agree. Hooper is a class act. Even with the extra pudge hes carrying he is still class. Its gonna take some player to take his place!

It's Hoops and ANother for me.......

And if the added competition the new guys bring gets another 10%
out of Hoops then we'll have some player..........

A sound enough transfer window, but not one to exactly go crazy about. Yes, it's exciting to see a few new faces in, but our team make-up hasn't really been altered. My breakdown of who we've signed would go like:

Forster - best business of the window. Exactly who, and what, we needed. Hole filled.

Kamenar - waste of a wage. It's nice to have the luxury of a 3rd choice senior 'keeper, but he'll see no action, and for a side that plays in the SPL, Forster and Zaluska are more than enough.

Ambrose - wait and see, but looks like Neil has signed him as a replacement for Majstorovic. It's great to have a strong physical presence in defence, especially one who can head the ball, but I would've liked to see us sign a central defender that has pace. Due to our style of play, we're caught out far too often by nippy forwards getting in behind us.

Miku - not the marquee signing some of us were looking for, even Neil admitted it. However, he's only a loan signing, and if he plays anything like he has done the last couple seasons, he'll be a success here. I'd still favour Hooper and Stokes over him, but perhaps he can play that role in the hole, behind them. Currently, Kris was the only guy that could adequately do that. You could arguably say McCourt, as well, but Neil doesn't seem to wholly fancy him.

Lassad - not sure about him. Why sign a dribbler when you can bring in a target man? I like to see silky skills from our Bhoys as much as your next supporter, but if we're going to sign 2 new forward players, one of them needed to be a Plan B guy. As it is, he isn't what the majority of our support were crying out for. No more than Miku is, anyway.

All in all, I would've liked to see an extra defender, instead of a striker, and perhaps a midfielder added to the squad.
