I would love it if we signed Refaelov or someone of that ilk. As you said, unlikely now that we've signed Derk but the more the merrier.

Im like you Tic, according to reports from people who know the guy, they cant sing his praises high enough. Could he be the next Jordan Rhodes, or the next Johnny Russell ? Would be worth a wee punt on the laddie, while he is still in the "rookie" bracket. We would get him for say £50-100,000, we gave similar money to Airdrie for Tony Watt, and mark my words, he will star for Celtic F.C., very, very soon too. We again paid roughly the same amount for Paul Slane to Motherwell, and sadly that didnt work out.
We should sign this guy, and hope we can nurture him into one of a partnership with Tony Watt. Having said all that, I will still be raging if the Board turns round and hands Lenny, say £2/3m to secure a "prolific" striker. It will be an insult to everyone connected with Celtic, Lawwell, cant be blamed for this, the Board are the culprits. Ive followed Celtic for 50yrs now, and even in todays financial climate, I argue that its not beyond our financial reach to rattle out £4/5m on a rite good feckin striker. And the same amount on a centre half who knows how to work a defence. We need instant stabilty in the heart of our defence, and when we get that stability, that will give confidence to our two full backs, confidence to cover their own areas, instead of getting drawn into the centre of the park. Achieve this, and we boost our midfield with more assists, which in turn reflects on our Striker/s. Come on Celtic, we are supposed to be a "family" Club, well lets invest in the family by splashing the dosh :ynwacelti
(sorry for the rant Mod, just had to spit it out)

Weren't we linked with Lior Refaelov before his move to Club Brugge?

85 apps 19 goals 21 assists with them.

15 apps 3 goals 5 assists in Europa League there to.

Also had Champions League group stage experience at Maccabi Haifa just like Kayal.

Celtic rumours have us in for Marco Capuano. Left sided center back, Italian under 21 player. Some Premier teams are looking at him, so he'll probably end up there.

Luis Suarez bid 'on standby' says Celtic's Neil Lennon, who hopes to field striker in Champions League

Celtic face a race against time to sign Luis Suarez ahead of their Champions League play-off, with manager Neil Lennon admitting the transfer bid was "on standby".

Celtic have seen a specific offer of £40million plus £1 - which was believed would trigger the Uruguayan's release clause - rejected out of hand by Liverpool.
However, Suarez has made it clear he wants to leave and, in a wide-ranging interview, complained of what he saw as broken promises from Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.
The 26-year-old - currently serving a domestic 10-game ban imposed by the Football Association for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic at the end of last season - could yet force the situation by handing in a formal transfer request, or even asking the Premier League to intervene over the interpretation of the now infamous get-out clause.
Whatever transpires, if Celtic are to be able to field Suarez in their crucial two-legged Champions League play-off later this month, then the squad list must be registered with UEFA by 11pm on Monday, August 12, leaving little time for the finer details of what has become the summer's most protracted transfer saga to be thrashed out.

When pressed at the post match interview over the weekend against Ross County, Lennon stressed he would not get involved in a public auction for Liverpool's key man.

Stefan Johansen: They call him the Norwegian Modric, anybody can say that kind of thing, but he looks very good. Anyway, he's a playmaker/defensive midfielder with a sweet left foot.

Anyway Norwegian international, going into the last year of his contract, maybe round about £1-1.5 million?

    This, or:
    Philipp Hosiner
Kara Mbodj (only moved in January for £1.5m, but we could offer to double their money, or take him on loan)
    Alex Milosevic.

Woould be delighted with any 3 of those 6. :50:

I think we should take a punt on Gavin Gunning as a good back up defender

Decent strength, good long shot on him, decent in the tackle.
Only 23 (24 in oct), could replace Wanyama, with more of a forward thinking mentality.
On (apparently) 9k Euro a week, valued on the old transfermarket site at just over £1m.

Well, less than a month to go now, and we still have quite a bit of business to do (allegedly). With the deadline for playing in Europe as well, you'd like to think we'd get our dealings done soon. Lennon's said he wants 2 strikers, and it still remains to be seen whether he'll buy a replacement for Wilson & Wanyama.

In an ideal world for me..

    Capuano
    Vossen
McGinn (Used as squad player, showed how good he can be in SPL with Aberdeen)
Barton.. (Probably v.unrealistic, and a lot would be opposed, but top player, has soft spot for Celtic and doesn't seem to want to play for QPR.)

All if's and buts though, and can't see it happening but it is the Suggestions thread eh?

I don't think we need 2 more strikers. That would bring us up to the same number we had last season and even then Atajic wasnt in the mind of many. But last season Miku and Lassad didnt play all that often, so whats the point in having 2 more strikers if they or strikers at the club are going to be frozen out.

Right now we have Stokes, Watt, Balde, Atajic and possibly Samaras(preferably left wing though). One more would be enough.
