Really wanted Paul Dixon here and now Lennon has come out and said we're looking at getting a left back in. Everyone says 'what's the point as Ledley and Mulgrew can play there'. Fact of the matter is that it's the only place in the team where there isn't competition for a place. Ledley and Mulgrew can do a job there but the position is 100% Izzy's. He gets it too easy.

Alexandre Pato 'desperate' for move from AC Milan to Celtic

The 23-year-old striker is keen on move to Parkhead as the Scottish club's major shareholder Dermot Desmond eyes a double swoop on San Siro with Boateng also set to complete a switch to the Scottish giants.

Brazilian star Pato excited by Celtic link as Lennon steps up chase for the forward.

Brazil international Alexandre Pato has confirmed Celtic are leading the chase for his signature.

And the 23-year-old admitted he is excited by the possibility of continuing his career at Parkhead when his AC Milan contract expires at the end of this month.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon watched Pato — who operates best as a striker — in Milan's recent 4-1 home win to Pescara.

Celtic have distanced themselves from the possibility of a move for the AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato.

The Brazilian striker whipped up a media storm last weekend when he said he was unhappy at the San Siro, urging the Glasgow giants to sign him.
Celtic were put alongside Barcelona and Juventus as being interested in his signature, but Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawell says his club are not looking to recruit the 27-year-old forward in January, as he feels better options are available.

Brazil ace Pato left "gutted" as talks break down between Milan and Celtic

Celtic's shock move for Alexandre Pato in the transfer window is looking less likely to happen now as talks have broken down between both clubs during negotiations over a transfer fee. Pato has urged AC Milan to let him go as he sees the move beneficial for his development in a stronger team and a better league.

Pato risks Milan future by wearing Celtic shirt

AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato appears to have put his future at the club in further jeopardy after wearing an Celtic shirt on a television show.

Pato has not been included in Milan's last three squads after a reported argument with Massimiliano Allegri over the hitman being desperate for a move away from the San Siro to his boyhood heroes Celtic. There are now serious doubts about whether he will remain with the Serie A runners up after the January transfer window.

Pato: I'll play for Celtic for free

With Celtic recently rejecting a come-and-get-me plea from Alexandre Pato, in a sensational move the Brazilian superstar has said he is willing to do what it takes to make his dream move become a reality, even it means playing for Celtic free of charge.

Good riddance! Allegri blasts Celtic-bound Pato for showing no respect

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has fired a parting shot to Alexandre Pato, blasting the Celtic-bound youngster for showing the club 'no respect'.

The 23-year-old was a controversial arrival from Internacional in 2007 when the Brazilian side accused the Serie A side of tapping up the teenager.

The Brazil international, who last scored for Brazil U-23 in a 3-1 victory over Belarus at the 2012 Summer Olympics, made his breakthrough into the Milan first-team in 2007 but has been forced to watch from the sidelines for the best part of a year due to a bad relationship with current boss Allegri.

AC Milan make complaint over Celtic's Pato pursuit

AC Milan have made an official complaint about Celtic's pursuit of Alexandre Pato.

UEFA this afternoon confirmed that the Milan club had raised the issue, which has left the Brazilian attacker's future at the club in a state of limbo ever since.

Pato has intimated his desire to leave the San Siro after six years folllowing the Hoops' initial interest, which Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri insists they have yet to follow up with an offer.

Neil Lennon confirmed Celtic's interest in Pato last week after New England Sports Network (NESN), the news outlet inaccurately reported that the 23-year-old had become the latest signing at Parkhead.

"Pato is a player we've enquired about, it is as simple as that," Lennon said at the time.

"Peter Lawwell our chief executive, has spoken with the [player's] club to see what the position is. That is where we're at.

"He's a very talented player but we don't like to talk about other clubs' players."

Allegri attacked Celtic for what he believed was an attempt to unsettle his player, who was left out Milan's 4-1 defeat to AS Roma last weekend and will also miss the Red and Blacks' trip to Siena in the new year as he remains intent on ending his six-year association.

A UEFA spokesman said: “UEFA has received a complaint from AC Milan regarding certain comments made by Celtic F.C officials and is currently looking into the matter.”

Celtic prepare bumper contract offer for Pato

The Parkhead club are reportedly close to agreeing a deal and will offer the Brazilian midfielder a lucrative image rights package to meet his demands.

Celtic have stepped up their interest in AC Milan star Alexandre Pato after missing out on various other targets and are preparing a lucrative contract offer to secure the striker's signature.
