I was in Sunderland at the weekend and the pub rumours were MON's looking for a new striker, either Fletcher or Guidetti and if he does, it"ll pave the way for Connor Wickham coming to us for a years loan??

No way is Russell worth 1.5 million never mind 3.

We need big game experienced heads. Don't * about league one and spl strikers.

Future Scotland striker he's showed his class against holland under 21s and other top under 21 countries, he has potential to be a very good striker, like Rhodes.

I don't care. He has no experience at the highest levels, the champions league.

We have bags of potential in our squad. Most of our players have a higher sale value than we paid and will move on to a higher level and compete well.

We need people who will bring in solid experience against European elite teams. It is possible to get them for a decent price, we have done it before.

Jvoh, nakamura etc etc hardly burst the bank and added very valuable experience to the team

ironic how you want CL experienced players and then use examples of JVoH and Naka, both who had no CL experience prior to their arrival at CP.

truth is our most successful CL players are those that come from lesser backgrounds. WGS team had very little CL experience in it before they pulled on the hoops, yet are our most coveted team in the competition.

Okay then we'll leave him just like the Steven Fletcher scenario, experience does help but it's not vital. Plus Russell has played european football for his club.

We should buy Russell, but he's right, * paying close to £3m for a striker who is yet to score more than 10 goals in a season.

I really like Russell and would love us to sign him, but we shouldn't let United make us pay over the odds for him. Very good potential not yet fulfilled.

    Connor Wickham's quality on FM.

For this reason alone, I approve his potential transfer to Celtic.

Wickham is a decent player and would provide good back up to Stokes/Hooper. I`d take him on a seasons loan
