On the other players, some talent there for sure. But most are in decline and would be the kind of signings you make on FM because of who they are tbh :50:

Cuellar would have a lot to offer though, as would Gordon, Jaaskelainen, Klasnic, Drogba - though most of these would demand too much wages I assume. And possibly Almunia, Heskey and Fuller if we were desperate. :50:

    > Inb4 Alan Smith to Huns rumour

Would any of Somen Tchoyi, Paul Scharner and Pavel Pogrebnyak be worth a look at?

McFadden is not, has never really been and will never be of interest to Celtic. For a variety of reasons.

Also, that list has Paul Scholes as away, but didn't he sign a new deal?

Some good names on that list. I'd take Saha, Pogrebnyak, Owen, Fuller, Gordon and Scharner given the chance. Don't know how many players on the list we would actually go for though, or whose wages we could afford, but no doubt we'll be linked with a few names.

thank * your not in charge of the purse strings at Parkhead mate

Drogba:56::56: Hes of somewhere were they will probs pay him a million quid a week.

Heskey!!!! worst striker in Britain. Almunia and couldn't catch a cold and Gordan is made of glass.

Jaaskelainen is the only one there Ii would take but again wages would be far too much for a keeper for Celtic.

Saha would be an excellent signing. Can't see it ever happening though, he'll probably remain in England somewhere.

111 goals in 12 seasons.... roughly 9 goals a season. (In the premiership)

When you think of the deadwood that we're supposedly on the verge of getting rid of, we will have a lot more wages on the table than we seem to think.

Majstorovic, Loovens, O'Dea, Thompson, McCourt, Cha, Juarez, Murphy, Rasmussen, McGinn. These are all players that more than likely won't be here by the time we play our first qualifier. Paddy might stay for another season, but even then, you're probably clearing £30,000 or £40,000 in wages right away there, on top of the wage budget already in place.

9 goals a season in the Premiership equals about 20 goals a season in the SPL, when you consider the difference in the quality of defensive players in the respective leagues.

20 goals in a season from someone who we got on a free transfer would be very good business in my eyes. You're forgetting that most of his Premiership years have also been hampered by injury.

    Saha's 33. He's past it by now.
I'd take Cuellar in a heartbeat.

Very mediocre players can get 20 goals in a season in the SPL : Skippy, Stokes, Daly.

Jelavic managed about 20 in half a season.

Saha would easy get 20 - not that i want him.

What is mediocre about any of those players mentioned, with the exception of Daly? The rest have all proven themselves on a big stage and whilst none are world class, I wouldn't say they are mediocre.

I just don't think they're very good players - bargains we've had to settle for when the purse strings have been tight and their ability reflects that.

Nice one, ignore the fact I clearly said they would cost too much in wages just to get a snide comment in. Making yourself look really good there mate :50:

That's why their in the "if we were desperate" bit ffs :50:

It's Gordon. And if he would stay fit he would remind everyone why he is a better keeper than *. And I bet you he'd be getting his praises sung left, right and centre again if he did manage to get a season under his belt :50:

I would take Kuszczak and Cuellar.

That's what we need, solid and quality GK and CH with no transfer fee + 2m saved from not buying out FF that can be added to bring in quality striker.
