True but Redknapp wants another winger, and I think he is going to get Hoillet from Blackburn. That means Kranjcar has Lennon, Bale and Hoillet ahead of him, and I think Krancjar would rather get first team football... would be a great signing, even on loan

highly doubt Kranjcar would come to the SPL when he will have offers from Italy and Spain.

could possibly get him on loan. Could end up doing very well and getting a big move though:56:

Players that are out of contract in June and could do a job for us.

    Centre Back

Sebastian Prödl - 6 ft 4 centre back from Werder Bremen. Got over 30 caps for Austria at 24. Probably out of our reach but you never know.

Khalid Boulahrouz - Linked with him in the summer and seems to be over his injury problems. Ideal replacement for Maj.

    Wingers
Otman Bakkal - Can play either wing or behind the strikers. Over 100 appearances for PSV.

Shikabala - Left winger with 53 goals in 151 appearances, admittedly in the Egyptian league.

Semir Stilic - 24 year old left winger. Was excellent in both games against Juve last season.

Yeah, neither will Ledley or Lustig.

Pav and dos santos from spurs would be a dream for us. If not Macheda/Diouf from United will be nice. Onouha from Man city will be a solid center back as well but we got Lustig already, so screw that. Shola Amoebi on loan from Newcastle will be a solid signing as well.

all of them came from, respectfully, lesser teams than Celtic. this was a step up for them in their career.

Kranjcar is arguably in the best league in the world and coming here would be a step down. he will have the top dogs after him. the only big team i can think of going after those three players was Roma for Ledley but was there actually a contract on the table?

Kranjcar will have the top teams in Serie A and La Liga, bar Real Madrid and Barca, chasing him.

will he come here for a third of potential wage he could earn elsewhere in a hotter country in a better league for a better team? as i said, i highly doubt it. there's a chance but slimmer than Keira Knightley.

Yes there was a contract on the table and he chose Celtic over Roma. Lustig had half the Premiership after him but he chose to move to a side competing for trophies....his own words.

I don't think Krankjar will come either but it won't be for the reason that other teams are in for them, there are individual circumstances for every player.

Kranjcar is a quality player but our midfield is also quality. Lets focus on the center of defence and up front.

for me, like everybody else, we need a striker and a centre back in the next window. following that, in the Summer i'd like a keeper, a left back and another centre back.

    Strikers
    Hooper
    Stokes
    Bangura
    Samaras

if Samaras is considered a striker, he doesn't score enough to have a place here. if he is now considered a left winger, we still need another striker to provide cover and compete with the other three.

    Out - potentially Samaras.
Needed - a striker in Jan.
Options - Jamie Murphy, Johnny Russell, Jordan Rhodes, Baba Diawara, Omer Damari, André-Pierre Gignac.

    Centre Backs
    Mulgrew
    K. Wilson
    Loovens
    Majstorovic
    Rogne

we desperately need a new centre back in Jan and arguably another in the Summer window. Loovens and Majstorovic are just not good enough imo. Rogne is still young enough to have a place here. the other two are our undoubtedly our strongest pairing.

    Out - Loovens, Majstorovic
Needed - a centre back in the next two windows.
Options - Seb Prodl (Bosman), Khalid Boulahrouz (Bosman), Roland Juhasz

    Goalkeepers
    Forster (loan)
    Zaluska
    Cervi

can we get better than Forster next season? my answer would be, yes. we won't get a new keeper in the next window that's for sure. Zaluska is ok for back-up but he'll be nothing more than that. i would rather have one of our youth keepers as our number three.

Out - Forster (loan expire), Cervi
    Needed - Number one keeper
    Options - Craig Gordon (Bosman)

    Left Back
    Izaguirre
    El Kaddouri (loan)

El Kaddouri was brought in as a rushed replacement to cover the loss of Izaguirre. i doubt we'll make the move permanent as Lennon would rather play Ledley out of position to play left back instead of El Kaddouri.

Out - El Kaddouri (loan expire).
Needed - a left back to cover Izaguirre.
    Options - Paul Dixon (Bosman).

    Others who can go...
    - everyone out on loan with the exception of maybe Juarez. i think he should be given another chance.
    - with Lustig joining Matthews on the right of defence, i think that Cha and M. Wilson's time at the club is one that is coming to a close. it doesn't look good with the length of their contracts either.

anyone else who leaves will need to be replaced.

Pretty much agree with all of that Hammy.

    Jan

    IN
    Centre back - Juhasz
Striker - One of Diawara, Rhodes or Damari.

    OUT
El Kaddouri - End of loan.
Hooiveld - Should get a decent fee now.
    Rasmussen
    Samaras
And anyone we get an offer for with 6 months left on their contract.

    Summer

    IN

1st Choice GK - Gordon would be great but wouldn't be too disappointed with Forster if we can't pull off Gordon.

Backup GK - No idea who but wouldn't renew Zaluska's contract. Sandomierski isn't getting a game at Genk.

Centre Back - One of Prodl/Boulahrouz on a free would be ideal. Both got plenty of experience and both can cover RB if needed, allowing us to let both Cha and M.Wilson go.

Left Back - Paul Dixon on a free would be great cover for Izzy. Wouldn't cost much in wages either.

Winger - One of Bakkal, Shikabala or Stilic on a bosman. Two if Brown leaves.

    OUT
Juarez - Won't get much opportunity at RB or CM.
    Towell - Same as Juarez.
    Thompson - Not good enough.
McCourt - Think McGeouch will be ahead of him by the end of the season.
    Murphy

    Release at end of contract
    - Zaluska, Cha, M.Wilson, Majstorovic, Loovens, O'Dea, Blackman (if he fails to impress), McGinn.

    cheers, Rab.:50:

i wouldn't go after another winger until Brown, Forrest, Commons or McCourt leaves the club and even then we should valuate McGeouch first.

i really don't want any investment in the middle of the park as it's our strongest department. i would much rather spend money on our defensive side.

    i said 'i highly doubt it'. i didn't say there's no chance.

Gignac has been riddled with off field problems. there will be less clubs willing to take a risk on him. so yes, i think we have more chance of getting him than we do of Kranjcar.

also, i said Gignac was an option, not he is in the bag if we want him. you may disagree but don't belittle the point.

Gignac will go to the EPL or stay in France, Fulham nearly signed him on the last day of summer transfer window, as I had said before Krancjar was more of a hopeful signing than a realistic one. Plus Gignac is not really a target man
