a player just came to my mind. A temporary fix for the DM position: William Kvist. Is in Denmark now. Lots of caps, age 31.

He's just started Evertons last two games in the EPL, no chance McCarthy rumours are real.

Everton signed McCarthy for 13 million and he's not even at his peak yet, can't think why they would sell him for any less than 15 mill considering they could easily get 20+.

Lukkaku has been talked about for 60-70 million ffs!

Would prefer somebody foreign anyway tbh, appreciate Brendan knows the English market and another Sinclair wouldn't go wrong but I don't feel there's enough value there for centre mids. Why not look to France or Italy for a Kante, or indeed a Payet?

I think anyone not currently playing in scotland need international clearance. Even if he's Scottish.

I can see us signing a top class CM once we qualify, dont think it will be McCarthy though.
Cant think who it could be really, I'm sure Brendans got someone in mind.

Was thinking maybe Lucas still but Klopp seems to want to keep him now.

McCarthy is on 70k a week according to this http://www.celebritiesmoney.com/eve...y-dont-spend-aggressively-in-transfer-market/

Unlikely to be the most accurate, but seen a more reliable source saying "Everton look to double mccarthy's salary to 50k a week to ward off interest from man Utd" - he signed a new contract a month or so after that article so I imagine he is way out of our price range in terms of salary.

I hope this magical, mystical midfielder turns out to be that Tonny from Feyenoord - from those linked so far he's just about feasible, and would be perfect for us

"I'm not in the market for a marquee signing who cannot run"

Straight from Rodgers himself. I'd say that rules any possibility of Schweinsteiger. His legs are done.

Not that it is even that realistic anyway. :smiley-laughing002:

:50: there's a proper buzz around the place. Our manager is incredible, our team is showing some great signs and transfer targets who were completely an utterly unrealistic a year ago now don't seem far fetched. Imagine 6 months ago someone had said we'd have Rodgers, Davies, Sinclair, Toure and Dembele at our club :smiley-laughing002: you can almost throw Erik and Roberts into that too because we had no idea how they'd settle and how good they'd be. On top of that we've got a fully fit and flying captain again and two Scottish lads in Griffiths and Tierney who could be absolute legends here. Champions league on the horizon and it's onwards and upwards from here. "Excited" doesn't do it justice. Add in the immense pride of the last week and how our fans have handled the Palestine matter and it's cloud nine. :shamrock:

Hope it is Chaz Mulgrew on a new 5 year deal.

    That would be amazing.

Sunderland couldn't pay his wages, highly doubt we could afford him.
