I really like Speroni. Little bit older but he should have a few years left in him at least.

I reckon Speroni's a good shout as well. Looks like we're after a keeper, a midfielder some kid who was on loan at Bolton's development team and a striker with pace.

Man United's 21 y/o centre-back, Michael Keane. His contract's up in the summer.

Keane and Speroni are both really good shouts. Strange how Keane's contract is running up though, I thought he was highly rated there? He's been good when he's been out on loan at Leicester and Blackburn. Played right back for Leicester as well.

What about Pato? Would that be possible? I know he is back home for 15 mil € and has 4 year deal, but he is just 24, I imagine he will want back in Europe. He doesn't exactly shine in that league. Maybe he would ne available even at lesser price.

Pato would have no shortage of suitors if he chose to return to Europe. Well out of our range.

There is better young players to look at instead of Pato, an over priced dud at the moment. He is very very talented, but he has problems with injuries and being a part of a poor team (Corinthians). No point taking a major risk with him because of his name.

Maybe Diego Tardelli would be a better option for a more mature player. Or even Maxi Biancucchi who had a good year at Vitória (now at Bahia).

Better young players to look at could be Rodrigo Caio or Geuvânio. They are nice young attacking players. Rodrigo Caio is taking part in the upcoming Toulon tournament. Meaning a work permit may be easier to get.

The Brazilian League runs until December or something. If you go down to maybe Serie B maybe you can find a good player but it needs to happen in January.

There are some good foreign players, international players, but you need to get them before the teams in serie A scoop them up. The top teams aren't spending huge amounts on players, but they are selling them on for big cash to teams in Asia, Russia or wherever. But realisitically, even though it is heavily scouted, we can compete financially for the serie b players. That's the market we're looking at.

So we could have picked up this guy for just over £1,000,000. As soon as he moved to serie A, you can begin the bidding at £5,000,000.

William Mendieta, plays for Paraguay as an attacking midfielder/winger.

    No you don't, £5 million :smiley-laughing002:

Sunderland bought Ignacio Scocco this year for 3.7 million€. He is a proven goalscorer who put in fantastic performances in last years Libertadores. He is easily worth more than this William Mendieta at newly promoted Palmeiras.

Cruz Azal of Mexico bought Bahia's Maranhão for 1.2 million€: Marseille got Coritiba's Lucas Mendes for 2.0 million€, Milan nicked Cruzeiro young prospect Gabriel for a mere 500 thousands€. Roma bought Marquinho from Fluminense for 3.5 million€ and Mariano went to Bordeaux for 3 million€. Juan went to Inter Milan for 3.8 million€ and Philippe Coutinho left Vasco da Gama for a tiny 3.8 million€.

Your 32 million€ deals for the like of Oscar or the Hernanes to Lazio deal are very uncommon. All clubs in Brazil are selling clubs and looking to cut a deal. Most of the time they don't make any money in transfer windows, so they will make a deal. To give an example look at Flamengo's Hernane, a good player with a fantastic work rate who was top scorer overall last year. He was moments away from moving to China for 3.5 million€. Not the £5 million you are plucking out of thin air.

If you are willing to look and aren't stupid you can get good players for Celtic prices in Brazil, everything else in South America is a lot cheaper. Teams in Argentina are dying to sell players right now.

Éverton Ribeiro was the best player in the Brasileirão last year by a fair bit. Cruzeiro have already rejected a £10 million+ bid for him so no chance we'll get him. The press have taken to calling him the "Bale Brasileiro".

It was £10million euros from United. All the usual suspects are looking to sign him.
When everyone is looking at him we should be looking at the other guys who're off the radar.

Have you heard of a guy called Wallyson Mallmann? I hadn't. He's been on loan at Sporting Lisbon from Man City. Central midfielder, scores goals.

Brek Shea on loan next season with an option to buy? Could be a decent option out wide and its an area we need to add numbers to in the summer. To be honest I haven't seen him this season and I see he's been loaned out to Barnsley... but he was seen as really hot property while in the MLS and coming to us could be a good chance for him to re-start his career. I'm sure Lawwell would be happy with us tapping into the US market as well. The only real problem is hes had a few injury problems over the past few years and you know what our lucks like with players that come with that 'baggage' especially wingers! So has anyone seen much of him lately? And would you take him?
