I had an infected tooth when I was on holiday in Budapest once, and the pain was so bad that I was looking for a dentist who would remove it, and would’ve gone through with it without anaesthetic if necessary.

It may not work for you, but this did for me. The infection was anaerobic in nature so I used oxygenated mouthwash every hour or so, and it cleared up very quickly. There’s plenty of oxygenated mouthwashes available online, but The Breath Co stuff in the blue bottle worked for me, and is available in most decent sized Tesco’s etc.

as for the toothache I used to crush up an aspirin and rub it on the affected tooth. Mind you taking a couple of anti inflammatorys will do the same job.
