He probably is. Standard paid us a fee and then the owner, who owns Charlton as well, took Tony to south east London. I'd imagine that not much of a fee was involved and he probably was/is on good wages ever since he left us..

Again, I'm only going on what I've read from people involved in both Charlton and Cardiff, and their respective fan bases.

The board are looking to reduce their budget, which is why two of their more well-liked strikers are being touted about for loan deals when they don't even have a permanent manager.

All Watt has been guilty of lately is a dip in form. He's not been playing well since he got injured, and has admitted to that himself.

If he's been up to no good then fair enough, but I'm not going to just go down the lazy route of saying "oh, he's away on loan? Must be because he's been a *".

I doubt Cardiff would be interested in taking him if the inside track was that he's being dumped by Charlton due to his off-field antics.

Aye, that's true. Unfortunately the certain type of player that our managers of late have required are the likes of Balde, Pukki, Scepovic etc.

    In other words, *! :smiley-laughing002:

Is August not lately? Cardiff are a * mental club at the moment, are you joking?

What fans have you been listening too? I'd dread to think if others fans went on this forum and had to take away some opinions from some of the crackpots on here :56:

So, you're willing to completely dismiss the notion that the Charlton owner is looking to offload some of the club's higher earners (especially those who maybe haven't been performing well of late) in order to reduce the wage budget? Even though they're currently shopping Igor Vetokele around for a loan deal as well?

This is being done whilst they don't even have a permanent manager in place!

And that there's no issues with the new owner, Roland Duchâtelet? Come on, man. The Charlton fans are losing the place with the * running their club at the moment.

You're quite happy to dismiss and deflect all of that in order to maintain your opinion that Watt has been moved on because of his attitude?

I'm happy to dismiss the fact that you seem to think Tony Watt is a high earner.

My fall point is Tony Watt has attitude problems and he's shown no sign of getting that sorted. Now he's being punted out on loan, without even the transfer window being open.

Tony Watt is not a 'maverick'. He's a young guy with some potential who is throwing it away.

The reasons for which seem fairly obvious if you have a read and see what Charlton fans, local media and even Welsh media have been saying.

It doesn't look as though he's been punted for behavioural issues. This time.

    This.

    Bellamy was a maverick.

    Berbatov was a maverick.

    Balotelli is a maverick.

Tony Watt is unfortunately just a young guy with a bit of talent whose attitude has a consistent track record of drawing criticism.

Of course he was. A guy with an attitude but at least he backed it up with plenty of talent.

Why did he go to Cardiff?! Thought he was doing well at Charlton, the fans seemed to like him.
