He's had a good season so far. Proven to Lennon and the fans that he is more than capable of stepping into the first team. Give him a few more games for the remainder of the season, along with the likes of Rogic and McGeouch, but don't throw them in at the deep end and expect them to swim.

will be good when the league is warped up so he can get more game time but I think so far he has been either amazing or completely average

Young players are usually inconsistent so its no surprise he's dropped off a little. When the league has been won im sure we'll see more of him.

How exactly has he dropped off? He has been impressive in almost every single appearance this year, hasn't been getting games recently but I don't think its fair to say he's dropped off. Frankly I don't understand what he has to do to get ahead of Lassad who imo is a complete waste of a jersey and has done nothing to be ahead of Watt in the pecking order.

In terms of goals, he has still been performing well though.

    Tony Watt... where is he?

There may already be a Tony Watt thread so I do apologise if that's the case...

Anyway, what's happened to him? He doesn't seem to be in Lennon's first team plans in recent months. Any time he's played this season he's done well and in my opinion he merits a place on the bench (at least) more than Miku or Lassad.

I've heard rumours he's slacking at training and Lennon isn't happy with his attitude, hope that's not the case.

He's 18/19 years old in his BREAKTHROUGH season in the first team at Celtic.

It's called easing your youth players in and not putting too much expectation on their shoulders.

I heard a rumour he came in to training swigging a bottle of Jamesons. Lenny was not happy... he wouldn't give him a drink.

He then headbutted Gary Pendrey and bottled Danny McGrain.

Apparently Lenny has told him he is on his last warning (as long as he brings a bottle in for Lenny tomorrow).

Wouldnt mind seeing him play a few more games. Hopefully he'll get plenty of chances once we wrap up the title :50:

Tony's done amazingly well, i think he's better coming on from the bench sometimes, just depends on the opposition. I agree he's better than Lassad by miles and aye, he's getting developed into the team gradually so he can kick on next season.

30 - 40 appearances this season gives him plenty of experience, then it's just a matter of finding the right strike partner to feed off. But aye, a right good prospect and a right handful when he gets space to run into.

I'm not demanding he starts every game lol He's clearly a good player who offers alot to Celtic regardless of his age, at the very least start him on the bench for most matches. He seems to have fell off the radar..

For all his talent and goalscoring ability I'm sure you would agree he is extremely raw.

He has played more than enough this season to ease on his development. You have to bear in mind this isn't a guy that has been with Celtic for 10 years like a lot of the youth players coming through.

This kid is a serious work-in-progress, but definitely worth keeping a hold-on to.

    Great project.

You are surprised he is not traveling?

In all honesty, playing a player like Watt in turin, especially if it does not go out way and we take another beating might dent his confidence even worse.

Also, he is not the player we need to get us out of a hole there, Stokes would be far more experienced in doing so.

I think people just need to let him develop. It is clear he has the raw ability and the talent to go onto very good things, especially with us. Lets not rush him.

I personally, feel very comfortable with how he has performed this season and look forward to seeing him get some game time after the league is wrapped up and moving forward into next season.
