from what i saw of Allan last night he is great at running with the ball, gliding past players at will. Can he pass the feckin thing? Negative. Im sure it will come in time when he stops trying to be the main man. Tried to take the pk off of Tony Watt too. Wee *.

Thought Watt was magic when he came on btw. The Luxem burgers couldnt touch him. Would have liked to see how much of a new * he would have ripped, given a bit longer on the park.

And Rhys McCabe is a loss to Sevco alright. Dung did you say?:bbpd:

Hope you're laughing at the expression rather than the sentiment. Allan has in no way proven himself to be better than Twardzik or McGeouch; he hasn't even played for West Brom yet.

He definitely has proved himself to be just as good as, if not better than Twardzik and McGeouch at the moment. He was class on loan for Portsmouth in the championship who were a * championship club last season.

He's only played about 30 senior games in his whole career. Still he's an amazing player and I think anyone who watches him can see how much class he has. I really wanted him when he moved to West Brom - especially for £300k. He can go on to be amazing and it would be a real shame if he doesn't get his chance there and turns into Kevin McDonald.

I think some people are way over-rating Twardzik and McGeouch though. They both look like good players but both have done virtually nothing in their careers. Allan's at least played in regularly the Championship and starred for Scotland U21s.

I think McGeouch will turn into a great player. Twardzik has potential but he might not make the breakthrough. Still I'd love to see Watt, Allan, McGeouch, McLean, Russell and Fyvie all playing in the U21s together. I think Scotland have the makings of a really good team there and with Hanley and Wilson as well - plus Phillips, Forrest, Bannan and Rhodes already in the first team - Scotland have the making of a very good team.

Totally agree. Scotland has some great young talent coming through. Must be nurtured properly.

How has he 'proven' it? McGeouch could not have impressed more in the minimal game-time he has had. Are you telling me McGeouch wouldn't have done as well for Portsmouth? Players like Daryl Murphy and Stephen Pearson play every week in that league. No one has seen enough of Twardzik to pass judgement. But suddenly people are laughing at the suggestion that McGeouch and Twardzik are better than a guy most fans didn't even want last season and has not played a single first team game for West Brom?

Hardly an achievement. Portsmouth had about six players when Allan was there.

Well that is even more of an achievement then, under difficult circumstances, a young boy has been recognised and has been lauded for performances in a very difficult, competitive league. In a team with hardly any players, where they aren't expected to do anything.

How is that not impressive? If he was playing for Barcelona in the Championship and he done well that wouldn't be amazing. Doing well for Portsmouth in the Championship?

Well that's quite impressive. He's the stand out under 21 International, well he wouldn't be if James Forrest was in the team but right now he's the standout.

We'll see what happens when wee McGeough is back up and running but the future looks good for Scotland. McGeugh, Fraser, Allan, Forrest, Russell, McKay-Stevens, Rhodes and Tony Watt and the youngsters that are already in the Scotland squad like Barry Bannan.

Is it just might Scotland in the very near future actually have a football team?

With our incumbent national team manager they'll have the football ability knocked out of them.

    Sad but true.

Not true whatsoever, Craig Levein, for all his faults, has shown in the last few games he is willing to let the players get the ball on the deck and pass it about. Play there natural game, if you add into that the fact that Levein can't undo what there clubs are putting into them then; as the clubs have them far longer than him.

I don't trust Levein tactically and despite the 4-6-0; he isn't naturally a lump it and hope for the best manager.

He said 'Allan has played regularly in the Championship.' I was pointing out that this was no achievement considering the team he played for. I could probably have played regularly for that Portsmouth team.

And the rest of the post? He done well for that Portsmouth team and he impressed in the Championship.

That is impressive, especially for that Portsmouth team. Do you agree?

I didn't see him play for Portsmouth, apart from one goal in a highlights show, so I couldn't comment. Did you?

I can see what he means though, its easier to look good in a Portsmouth team than it would be if he was at Cardiff/Blackpool for example.

    1. Because Portsmouth were crap, they only won 4 out of the 15 games he played in. So it wouldnt be hard to look decent there.

    2. Because he will be guarenteed a game at Portsmouth, compared to a team like Cardiff/Blackpool where he might only have been a sub and hardly used.

Same way that it would be easier for McGeouch or Twardzik to look good for Ross County than us, because there they would play every week and would stand out above the mediocrity that Ross County have. With us they arent first choice and rarely play and when they do they are surrounded by quality with more experience over shadowing them.

Not sure about that. its still the same league and if anything they ahve to work harder because they're in the first team, surrounded by players who aren't as good and have more responsibility.
