4 Japanese players involved in goal contributions…the post away from 4 Japanese scorers too. But they will never settle coz eh the culture shock man.

Wonder when the last time we had 4 players from the same country contributing to goas in one game? I’m guessing it will be Scottish/English players last time?

Therein lies the problem. I think its a tactic we need to start using away from home in the CL. Not only Calmac but Iwata at defensive mid. If we are to lose against Athletico, which i hope we dont, we need to try something different tactically.

Been saying the same thing for a while. We need two in beside each other at 6, moreover against teams like this and/or away from home.

Shift Calmac to LM instead of Palma. Has played there under Rodgers.

No chance we move our most important midfielder to the wing and I don't think hes played there since Ronny.

As stupid a suggestion it is Rodgers did use him left of the 3 behind the striker plenty when Sinclair tailed off a bit.

He’s lost a yard of pace since then and as you said is the most important player so would be beyond idiotic to take him out of there.

I'd bring him in around the 60 minute mark instead of Bernardo. We could have a use for his workrate.

Don't understand why he isn't getting more game time, came on v Hearts looked strong, scored a cracker, then not featured since..

    Poor management of him tbh.

I also think he looks good. We're just stacked in midfield atm. Ultimately the boss needs to chooes between guys like Turnbull, Iwata and Bernardo and find somewhere else for at least one of them.

Get him in playing the DM role and get Mcgregor further forward, as he's only 1 who can come close to giving us the creativity Hatate does.

I'm genuinely baffled that we never see him starting as one of the middle three, especially when Hatate has been out injured, ok on paper he's a DM and we don't really 'need' one domestically most games, but it's not like he's some defensive lump who just sits covering the back line, he has the legs to go box to box and give us energy in there.

Would be interesting to see something like this:
    Hart
    AJ - CCV - Scales - Berni
    Iwata - CalMac
    O'Riley - Kyogo - Palma
    Oh
LB is the main problem though. A setup like that needs fullbacks that can overlap and get to the bye line. That's why I included Berni over Taylor. With 2 DMs you'd hope CalMac could help Berni out defensively.

Maybe it’s time to rest Calmac and let Iwata take his position on Saturday. I think this guy is a real talent and he deserves more game time as the midfield was poor last night.
Turnbull was probably the best out of last nights midfield.

There’s absolutely no way Bernabei should be anywhere near a Celtic jersey ever again. He is just not up to it. Must be one of the guys we look to empty in January.

I think Iwata has been hard done by, but some fans are harsh on Turnbull. He is a good ball player and he has chipped in with his fair share of goals. He has never had the chance to settle into a midfield/system.

If he was at another SPL club, I reckon we would be trying to sign him.

Neither is the other * playing left back tho and he plays every week.
I'd rather see someone who can go past a man and attack from that position.

He can't defend for * but neither can Taylor.

Christ if Bernabei can throw the ball to a team mate he'd be a * improvememt. Thats how low the bar has been set

Thought he should've started against Hibs for that reason. That and the fact it was obvious Bernardo would've been shattered from the effort he put in against Atletico.

Although I can see a player in both Holm and Bernardo it’s mental to me that Iwata is deemed behind them in the pecking order almost at every turn.

I don’t think he’s the complete player or finished article either but he certainly has far more experience and pedigree and, at least in glimpses, has shown there’s definitely a player there.

It would make perfect sense to give him a start deeper and let MOR and Cal go box to box.

Complete nonsense. Taylor needs upgraded, of that there is no doubt, but playing that clown instead would be a massive step backwards. Of the 2 Taylor is by far the better option, whether you like it or not.
