We shouldn't give Tom English the time of day. He might be right here but he's a * wankstain.

That is very encouraging point your making, those teams outspend us massively too.

    Correct.

To be honest, if we kept all the players from last year and strengthened with the player we brought in I think qualifying from that group would have been exceptional!

While he highlights some important points, it would only be a Scottish journo who would put a negative aspect to such an achievement. Something which Neil Lennon made a point of on numerous occasions throughout last season.

As for the rest of the article, most clubs out with Real,Barca,Bayern Munich and the English Clubs can relate to the points raised, to a varying degree.

TBF, at least it wasn't the usual * like "Lawwell wouldn't back Lennon in the transfer window".

This man is a joke. He believes because he is Irish that it gives him some sort of ownership of the culture and believes Celtic wrong to have it. The same way Pat Nevin does but for Scottishness.

Missed the bit were he said our penalty against Spartak was fortunate?

He hates us. Must have tore him up watching us in the last 16.

Ok, my 10cents worth... just my opinion...
he's a hun, writes for gutter rags and clearly loving our fall from last seasons high by applying mock magnanimous bullshit in an attempt to undermine the real achievement we had.
secondly, when I saw our group draw this year my heart sank... I thought '*. We might actually get thumped 6 times here'. Lets be honest, we were the weakest team in the group, even if we'd kept hooper, wanyama and got finnbo we'd only have put ourselves over ajax in my opinion... maybe milan... but by no means certain, and we got none... I took credit from how we played untill brown blew up in our faces... team just stalled after that... lets take the hit on the chin, the big cheque from uefa, the experience time for the new signings and get back there next year and hope we get a better draw...

The worst thing about it is he's from limerick,so I doubt he was a hun..

Obviously being right at the top of the Scottish journalist game has seen him go the extra mile and by sticking the boot into us,that always does your chances no harm in climbing the ladder..
Another thing is with him being from the south and slating us will seem ok as it's not a hun agenda on us type thing..

For most part I don't disagree with him... I just don't like the tone/undercurrent of the piece... really do think some folk jumped the gun this year and thought we were in clover, and entitled to win without the work it took to get there...

Our group was harder this year than last year? Its stupid to say that we have to re-evaluate. I doesn't matter how poor Ac Milan are they are still vastly experienced and are Italian and Ajax are still a very good footballing team.

If we were 3rd or 4th seeds in PSG's group this year or At. Madrids group it could have been a different story.
