Flying to Paris, having a few nights there then train to Rennes. Got Madrid ticket so hopefully get offer for Rennes. Only problem being I'm taking the Misses to France and her season ticket is in her Dads name so might have a problem matching up flight details and season ticket details.

sounds good to me as me and my mate are both going and we share the season ticket as we both work away, so do you reckon there will be plenty of tickets and what area should we be looking for

    Rennes

I'm a Glaswegian living in Rennes for the last 28 years; I'd like to add some tips.
    Tickets & prices

the plan for the stadium is here

    http://goodies.staderennais.com/billetterie/plan.htm

Ville de Rennes, on the top left in the part on the top marked "Espace Visiteurs", is where official Celtic supporters will be,

prices for tickets in the left column "Plein Tarif" here

    http://www.staderennais.com/index.php?rb=133

It's 13€ for the Lower stand at the Away end & 22€ for the Upper stand.

Ouest-France Bas at the other end is the Rennes supporters' KOP - but they're cool, never any violence

    Getting to the match
The ground is 2.5 km from the city centre; count 35 minutes on foot.
There will be a continual flow of buses from the town centre (Republique Post Office) every couple of minutes going & coming back.
There are 4 or 5 bars directly across from the ground and loads of vans selling the local speciality "galette/saucisse" which is a grilled sausage wrapped up in a savoury pancake.

    Bars in Town

My local is O'Connell's, a big Irish pub in Parliament Square, right in the centre of the city.
The bar staff are all Irish or English ... and they're waiting for you !

Otherwise, as has been said, Thursday night is Students' Night - so the bars at the top end of the centre are pretty hectic.

Just a couple of words of warning : the beer sold in France is an awful lot stronger then Scottish beer. Also a drunken Frenchman or Breton is often nasty drunk & not amiably drunk

Forgot to say that O'Connell's has half a dozen big TV screens & can show 2 matches at the same time.
On the Wednesday it'll be 2 of :
    Real Madrid v Lyon
    Galati v Man Utd
    Marseille v Arsenal

Been in Glasgow, had little problems with one or two guys...That does not make every drunk Glaswegian violent. I find it very tactless

Thanks for all the info. I'm already looking forward to this one. As living in Belgium, I'll drive to Rennes ....600km. Only thing I need to sort out now are the tickets.
Crossing fingers and otherwise it'll be O'Connell's, haha.

How to buy tickets from the Rennes site

it's all in French of course so here's the 8 step instructions :

    1) Go to the « Ticket » (Billeterie) page on the Rennes Website http://www.staderennais.com/index.php?rb=92

Scroll down to the Celtic Match & click on the “Reserver” button

    2) Page with a title “Avertissement” which basically says that tickets are delivered electronically & you’ll need an e-mail address & Acrobat Reader & a printer to print them out.
    Click on the “Poursuivre” button

    3) Page with a plan of the stadium where you can see the prices of the different sections & select your seats.
The “Celtic End” is on the right, “Tribune Ville de Rennes Haut”. The lower Kop part is sold out. The upper part is 22€ for a ticket.
Click on the section you want and the screen to the right changes.
Key-in the number of seats you want in the “Plein Tarif’ box
Click on the “Ajouter au panier” button.

    4) You arrive on a page “Detail de votre panier” with a resumé of the seats and the price.
Click on the middle button “Valider votre commande

    5) Page “Vos Coordonnes
I don’t know whether they’ll accept orders from outside France; let me know if there's any problems & I'll give you some fake addresses

    « Civilité » – select “M”
« Nom » is your surname
    “Prenom” is your first name
    E-èmail address twice
Telephone : “Date de naissance” – date of birth
    « Adresse » – number & street
    « Adresse suite » : leave blank
    « Code Postal » : Post Code
    « Ville » : Town
    « Pays » :Country
    « profession » : select cadre moyen

Check the box on the right beside the paragraph in red to accept the conditions

    Click on the “Valider” button

    6) Page “Choissisez votre méthode de paiement
Click on the VISA or Mastercard symbol

    7) Page “Paiement Securisé
Enter your card number, expiration month & year and the 3 figure cryptogram on the back of the card

    Click on the “Valider" button

    8) Message “Votre transaction a bien été enregistrée” means your payment’s been accepted.
Note the details or print the page

Click on the “Retour a la Boutique” button

    8) Page with pdf e-ticket symbols : you can download the e-tickets from this page though normally they should have already arrived in your e-mail in-box

Print out the tickets; they all have an individual barcode which is swiped at the turnstiles

Had a few probs ... and sended a mail to try to find out what went wrong.
Apparently when U use VISA and U're card is not a card from France (which for us will be the case) U can't get the tickets. U need to go to France and collect your tickets at selling points like there are Carrefour (supermarket) or Fnac (books, Cd,...store)

This is what I got as answer ..
    Bonjour,

Si votre carte visa est une carte étrangère vous ne pourrait pas acheter des billets
Il faudra vous rendre en France pour en acheter dans un point de vente type carrefour, fnac

    Sportivement,

I've just looked at the availability on Rennes/Fnac website and it's good. What are the chances of stewards rejecting entry to away supporters in a home section "Tribune de Rennes Haut Y"? Thanks
