Unusual type of goal for us, reminded me of Larsson. Feel like we only ever scored goals like that back when Martin O'Neill was the manager.

Interesting question: Is he the first American to score for the club?

Reminded me of Larsson too as soon as i seen the goal.Doing what the goalie wasn't expecting.99/100 other strikers would have gone around the goalie.

I think so yeah. Can’t actually think of any other Americans playing for us.

There was Dom Cervi but don’t think he ever actually got a game, plus he was a keeper

He’s the first American to play for us so it follows. Cervi never played a competitive game and the only other ‘American’ was a striker called John Blackwood but his place of birth is disputed, he didn’t score in his only appearence.

Listening to the interview after the game when he said " the Celtic family " I felt he had green blood running through his veins .also blessing himself 3 times caused the huns to implode. We just have to concentrate the SC as their has been a new blood infusion injected into us and the league will take care of itself

So you're saying he's the new Henrik Larsson, really looking forward to the rest of the season now.

Looks strong for his age, would start him v St. Mirren on Wednesday.. don't think Burke is a back to goal loan ST.. and we can't afford to try and teach him that...

Was defo and experiment to see if he could play as a striker but Burke should get an opportunity in his natural position.
Weah does look like a rapid wee * who could easily turn his defender.
Would like to see him and Eddie together
Think that could be unreal. And can only assume they've played a fair bit together

If you would have read my other reply I stated that I wasn’t having a go at any players in particular, I just said it’s refreshing to see a Celtic player show some passion when scoring a goal.

Celtic's Timothy Weah has revealed that he is desperate to rekindle his on-field relationship with Odsonne Edouard. The duo played together at PSG and have remained friends with Weah insisting that the chemistry they enjoy can be of considerable benefit to Celtic.

Weah enjoyed an ideal debut for the Parkhead side when he came off the bench to score in Saturday's 3-0 win over St Mirren and he has vowed to sustain that form throughout his six-month loan deal. "I know Odsonne really well because we played a full season together and became very good friends," said Weah.

"I am so excited to play here at Celtic with him. "I already know his qualities and he knows mine. We have a really strong chemistry. We share so much of the same passions and we really get on with one another on and off the field You will see that when we get the chance to play together.

"He is an amazing talent. We have always rooted for each other and it's pretty amazing that we are both here playing for Celtic. "I can't wait to show the fans what we can do together. It's going to be a very exciting time for me."

Weah seemed to add a real energy to Celtic when he arrived onto the pitch on Saturday afternoon after replacing Scott Sinclair. And the teenager is hoping that he has done enough now to start Wednesday night's game against St Mirren at Celtic Park.

"That is up to the manager to go and pick a team but, for sure, I am ready," he said. "I felt really good out there. I am hungry and I am fit and I am here to play as many games as I can and score as many goals as I can.

"I just can't wait to get playing a lot of football. "I have been so impressed with everything. The gaffer has been amazing and my new team-mates have been great and I feel settled here already. "It makes it easy then to go out and play football. "I know there are a lot of games coming up with matches on a weekend and on midweek so I hope that there will be a lot of chances for me to get on the field.

"It was insane to score on my debut. It is what you dream of. But I know that there will be more goals to come from me. "Hopefully I have shown a little bit of what I have got but I just want to keep on producing. Saturday has been now and so you always have to focus on the next challenge and the next game.

"It is about keeping up the same level of performance and trying to improve every day. "That is why I am here and I can't wait to pull on that shirt again."

Just after he came on he was on the left wing in possession and I think it was the no6 tried to do him. He got the ball but lunged hard and high. Weah rode the tackle well but I have a feeling we'll see more guys going for him like this.
Great finish and looked more impressive than I was expecting.
