I really hope there is an option to buy here, that he's * hot & ready to go straight into the starting 11 otherwise let's move on. We currently have 2 strikers. 1 is on extended leave and for the most part splits the support when he plays & the other is a young guy who is learning his trade. We need someone ready to come in & play immediately and who is likely to stick around for more than 6 months.

Why oh why would we bring in another young guy who is just starting out himself on a very short loan deal to disappear before our UCL qualifiers. I must be missing something here, hopefully when the deal is done it becomes clearer bcos right now I find it utterly baffling.

If the sum of our transfer window is a 6month loanee , we'll know where we stand as will Brendan.

Well he's already been for a look around and met the manager. We'll need a different kind of group if we're to get serious about going further in Europe. Another good counter attacking player who can hold the ball up or beat his man. Someone who'll be good company for the other French guys in the side. Speaks English so can maybe help in that regard.
On pure ability it's all there for him to come over short term and score goals for fun.

Always been really impressed with what I've seen of him in the USA squad. I've seen his goals for PSG as well. He can definitely play in our team and start. The US sees him as their top attacking option for the future. As stated elsewhere in this thread, I'm not sure if a 6 month loan will be worth it, hope it is much longer than that. If all goes well maybe being here and enjoying it will help us secure him a wee few years more.

Not overly excited about this. For a player his age a 6 month loan is not worth it. Brendan in the past has said 18 months is required to develop young players, to get to know how we play, train etc. If Eddy should hit a consistent run of form and stay injury free would he even get a start in 6 month? There is no doubt he is a good player and set to become a quality player but we need a striker who is ready to go not a 6 month project to give other teams players game time. This could quite easily be another Musonda

It’s not. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Another top youth striker prospect coming in on loan. Last time that happened we signed him and broke our transfer record.

Not only does he make us stronger as a team most importantly, but he also gets a lot more interest from the American market, shows youngsters this is a good place to come and maybe we even make it permanent.

Of course he’d get a start in 6 months. How can you expect Edouard to play every game from now till the end of the season.

Surely we'll negotiate something longer than a 6 month deal?

And you go by what? Oracle of Delphi told u so? My eyes told me a bit different, he is certainly a hot prospect! If he helps us right away its a different matter. But the talent he has for sure!

It would be a stellar signing if it happens
A youth prospect who can’t get in the oil rich money PSG team ahead of cunty Neymar and the amazing Cavani. A point to prove. Young - no fear.

Some people need to use their heads.

If it's only for 6 month let's just play mikey johnson on the left for 6 month and develop our own player. * end up paying a loan fee and high wages too.

ATM we I think wenneed seasoned pros. We won’t get to 10iar with such young loans on such short loan deals. As someone said, I’d rather try and develop our own overthat time.
Seems like a gamble form the board, hoping to snare a youngun, develop him and sell him on for a profit, which would ge fine if we got a few decent seasons and a big fee that we would spend on players. But most of the money we have made just doesn’t seem to be getting reinvested.

A 6 month loan would be a good idea but with the right to extend the loan if it works out instead of them having the right to call him back.
