Nothing to do with Transfers....more important issues need addressed.
Should the Celtic support unite and organise a protest or show of solidarity for Neil Lennon in light of the disgraceful verdict by a Scottish Jury in Edinburgh?
This verdict could open the floodgates to a torrid of sectarian abuse towards the manager again this season. I am sure this will give heart to the bigots who want to force him out of Scotland.
I think that we need a co-ordinated show of support. All Celtic fans organisations, fans forum's, supporters clubs as well as social networking pages and sites should organise a mass protest.
Supporters of AC Milan, Barca, Munich and many more clubs fans would not tolerate this situation. it's all very well us complaining about it but imagine a 100,000 or 200,000 marching in protest or in support of Neil.

whats the point? we shouldnr even have to do this tbh. the people in question who let this punk off with a wee * slap to the wrist are the ones who should be forced to explain exactly why this verdict was given.a protest will do * all salmond needs to get his fat * in gear and step in here and sort this out.after all he is the one along with police who are stamping things like this out are they not?

With you 100%. Don't think a march would get support, petition or sending letters takes less effort so would get more support.

its a disgrace. a criminal offence was captured live on tv that can be viewed from anywhere in the world, a religiously agrivated assault too. there is nothing we can do to change the sectarian views of our country, at least not in the short term anyway. salmonds laws wont change jack *. police wont arrest anyone singing the billy boys, orange marches are still allowed.
the only way to get sectarianism out of football is to open two new prisons and call them "ibrox" and "tynecastle" -

I think the Celtic support should be doing more. I am as guilty as anyone. I sit here and post angry comments regarding the treatment of Neil, we sing his name at the games and unfurl banners however I think a campaign of some sort is needed.
We have a lot of clever supporters who could lead one. "Celts for change" mobilised in the 90's however that was small scale in relative terms. -

no.because the only reason he got a not proven verdict was that 1 wittness said he shouted racist comments to n lennon and other witness said he didn't. he's still going to jail isn't he?. and i think neil lennon would like to put it all behind him and get on with his life

- Hail! Hail!
The higher you build your barriers
The taller I become
The farther you take my rights away
The faster I will run
You can deny me
You can decide to turn your face away
No matter, cos there's....
Hail Hail!!
We`ve got yir back,Neil :shamrock: -

Playing devils advocate a bit here but unless he has shouted something sectarian (which it seems is unproven) how can anyone determine it was sectarian?
A long as he is charged and hopefully put in prison I dont care if it is a sectarian charge or not. This isnt a case of state sponsored sectarianism, it is a case of being unable to prove the attack was motivated by a hatred of catholics. -
For anyone who has done jury duty they will know that you always end up with some fuckwits.all it takes is some huns on that jury and Neil lennon was never going to get the right verdict.the hatred towards him in this country would make sure of it.if I've read it right he wasn't even found guilty of assault never mind sectarian assault, all he was found guilty of was breach of the peace.absolute joke.

Bit disappointed with the apathy here. It wasn't that long ago that a few hundred fans turned up outside CP in support of Neil - wondering if this has anything to do with recent results!
If we were flying high in the league and skelping teams left, right & centre and Neil was still getting a bit of grief would there be the same lack of support?
Hopefully we are STILL all Neil Lennon! -
It's done. Let's not get hysterical.

Calm down. Was the problem simply that it was impossible to prove that the guy shouted sectarian abuse? No matter how much we suspect he did, not one of us heard it, and like it or not you cant find a guy guilty without proof. I am not sure what the witness situation but I understand you cant get a conviction based on a single witness in Scots law.

Bottom line is we sign daft * songs and proclaim we are all Neil Lennon but in truth most Celtic fans don't give a *. As I said earlier, we mobilised in the 90's when the club was going to the wall, we went to Spain in our thousands for a game of football however we wave a few banners, sing a few songs when our manager is quite obviously being run out of town.
If I was Neil, I'd pack up and leave this * loyalist shitehole tonight. -
