THIS IS WHY WE ARE 'PARANOID'!

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by jamiebhoy67, Feb 14, 2010.

  1. i've been there before, its just makes you angrier.

feel free, but you have been warned.

  2. its the 21st century though mate, there is a lot of money put into football and we shouldnt have to go on like this any longer. The only reason we are going on about this is because the league is lost and we wouldnt care about highlighting these issues because we wouldnt feel the need to but imo it needs to be dealt with, we shouldnt have to be fighting against all the odds every single season for the rest of time, it needs to be stopped now

  3. Was it the officials fault we didn't have one corner yesterday or one shot in the second half. Was it the officials who couldn't defend the corner they scored from. Is it officials fault we conceded four at aberdeen, lost at home to hibs, lost away to kilmarnock, away to dundee utd?

  4. start looking more closely.

  5. Not saying that paranoia is getting the better of some of our number, as there has been unquestioningly a number of dodgy decisions go R****** way, but there is no arguing that we have hardly been doing ourselves any favours.

Bottom line is, we have conceded twice as many goals as the Ipox mob have. Before we start looking at external factors, lets get our own house in order, and no points for guessing what needs attending to first. THE DEFENCE. Either personnel & tactics, or both, but this needs sorted asap. Once the foundation is solid, then we can look to build. Even if we could, in our wildest dreams, afford a player of the ilk of Messi or Kaka it would do us little good, if we are gifting goals to our opponants in the manner and the rate we continually have been.

If Mowbray wants to save his own skin, and work towards engineering a prolonged period as the manager of Celtic Football Club then the priority could not be clearer.

  6. Run it like a football club, not a business? That's what Portsmouth did and that's what Leeds did and look at them now! Or look a bit closer to home, the Huns were run like a "football club" and look where they are now. In this day and age the clubs have to be run like a business because like it or not it's the way of the world.

  7. Threads Merged ,No more Paranoid threads please.

  8. Once again, before we start pointing fingers at external factors, lets get our own shop in order. Unquestioningly R****** have benefited from a number of dodgy decisions over the course of the season, as they have in seasons past also. How about we sort ourselves out first?

    Priority 1: Fix the defence.

cursory glance at the table tells a tale. We have conceded twice as many goals as they have, and not a great deal is being done to rectify this, as the manner in which we are gifting goals is all too familiar.

Then there is yesterday's match, which in itself is a matter for some consternation but for different reasons. I cannot remember us winning a single corner kick, and despite finishing the game with 4 forwards, struggle to think of a decent attack throughout.

We can't worry about changing things beyond our control as a club, but there is somethings that the coaching staff can do & should be attending to these.

  9. a celtic team playing poorly and one playing well deserve an equal chance of fair play. we've got to do everything in our power to help our team and that includes speaking up for ourselves! it just been long overdue in my opinion

  10. I dont think thats the point he's trying to make, overall throughout the course of the season, we have been MAJORLY outdone by big decisions in big games, maybe the refs were not to blame for these defeats but at vital points in the season they were.

If we had won the three games above, and not conceded 4 goals against Aberdeen we would be top of the league right now. How are any of them the referees fault ? AS someone posted earlier, we finished sundays game with 4 forwards but still couldnt manage to win a corner or get a shot in, either on or off target, in fact i think the closest we got was with Kamaras gamemanship when he returned the ball to them following NGuemos head injury by putting it into the top left hand corner of the park. None of this was the referees fault but down to our team, primarily our midfield who never provided our forwards with much to work with all second half. Thats why we lost the game. Thanks to Artur and Hinkel it could have been much worse, both played out their skins so why couldnt everyone else.

  12. Whereas I do agree we don't get much change from the officials,I believe the best way of overcoming this is to become such a good team that no matter how many dodgy decisions go against us we can still wipe the floor with the rest of the SPL.

  13. We also finnished the game with 10 men, and for the third old firm game in a row the officials have gave us something to complain about. No doubt about it we were second to every ball going but who's to say we wouldn't have pressed in the final 5 minutes for the winning goal, 11 v 11? After all it was their extra man in midfield who finnished our season.

And the 4-4 Aberdeen game, if you watch it back I think you'll find that the ref was * poor in that game also... He was quick to book any of our players for stepping out of line when a certain Aberdeen player got away with each same offence. You can see where i'm going here but surely you don't want me to go through them all:87:

  14. It's hard to get a shot on goal when the opposition are allowed to boot you up in the air every time you get into their half.

And then they wink at the ref for good measure,

    Disgrace total and utter disgrace,

  15. Mabey we need to have a look at how the Italians dealt with a corrupt sport. Seems to have fixed the problem. I suppose you need the FA to be wiling to rid the problem in the first place though?

  16. do you still not believe this "rubbish" mate?
Fantastic original post, how anyone can deny that something sinister
is going on is beyond me! This needs to be looked at by higher powers
now especially if we end up getting fined as a result.

  17. It was davie weir bougherra winked at.

  18. Big decisions went against us but you have to look deeper. The penalty we should of had at ibrox would of made it 1-1 (if we had done what we have struggled to do this season score a penalty) rangers might have still won the game. That game they were so deep because they had something to hang on to. If we equalised there is no guarentees. The game at celtic park when we scored it took them 1 minute to equalise who's to say they wouldn't of scored had fortune's goal stood. On sunday we were the team who badly needed to win and to have no corners and no shots in the second half was celtic giving up the title without any fight.

  19. For the doubters: look at the bigger picture. Celtic's failings apart - the refs have overwhelmingly influenced the league standings. They've cheated us out of at LEAST 5 points which they've given to the huns.

Then there's the huns' other matches and ours.

Can anybody seriously deny the cumulative effect this has had?
There is no fair playing field in this bitter wee country of ours. If you can't see that well you don't know your history either. Decades of this abuse - this season has been the worst for a good many years.

There is nothing sinister, nothing concealed, no behind-the-scenes conspiracies.

It's all out there in the open. It's blatant. And it's a disgrace. A * disgrace.

in my opinion your attitude is just as bad as those you're trying to undermine. yes we've been poor and that has obviously had a major contribution in our position but how can you deny that refs have had an impact. just because we've been poor doesn't mean the refs have carte blanche to screw us over which is what you seem to be saying. if we'd been able to convert our dominance of games into wins we'd be sitting top but likewise if the refs had given the correct decisions highlighted in the original post we'd likely be sitting top. both are massive factors in our poor season, as i said earlier anybody who discounts one of those is either narrow-minded, stupid or has an agenda
