I'd love it, but apparently they're too insecure to do it.

Jericho wanted their story heading into 'Mania 18 to be revealed that he and Stephanie were having an affair all along, but they wouldn't go for it. Roman should been claiming to/mockingly talking about riding Stephanie during the whole buildup to his Mania match with HHH this year, but they always script things so everybody has nothing but the utmost admiration and fear of them. Reeks of insecurity.

    Few thoughts:

    1. Absolutely ecstatic that KO is the new Universal Champion. He deserves it arguably more than anyone else on the roster right now, his first run with a major WWE title. Owens is one of the best all round performers currently, and has amazing theme music to boot.

    2. Nice to see HHH back as a babyface, first time in three years or something since all the Authority stuff started. Looks as though he's going to be challenging Stephanie/Foley for leadership of the brand and then probably facing Rollins at WM33 next year.

Was good seeing him and Foley face off again too. Although Mick will hopefully never have another match, it was a nice nostalgic nod to their storied history.

    3. Why are they having Brock/Orton in a rematch at a throwaway live event? They could make mega bucks off of this, but it's not even on PPV or a network special?

This. The New Day's best stuff was infinately more interesting and entertaining when they were heels. Now a year plus with the belts, they just seem so stale and going throughy the motions.

And I really hope this Bayley association is a 1 week thing, otherwise it would seem that WWE would be just wasting her as the comic relief of the women's division, making a joke of her awesomeness and true natural babyface potential.

Speaking of going through the motions and utter dire, is anyone anywhere invested in Titus & Darren Young? Dull. The squash matches seem to be working for Braun Strowman and still has legs, disrespectigng the lucha mask is going to get more heat there, but uggh, completely different story for Nia Jax. That is just completely falling flat and out of gas. Couldn't be less interested in the way she is being presented, and given her unique attributes in the women's division that is not a good thing.

Maybe, from the sounds of the Charlotte in commentry and other vignettes in recent weeks, that she is getting more disenchanted with Dana Brooke as her backup/muscle, could see Charlotte recruiting Nia Jax for this and dumping DB?

Nice to see KO claim the belt, even with some help from HHH. Sets up Rollins for a face turn, which they should have done when he first came back anyhow, but it really was the last chance in trying to get Reigns over at the top face, before he scuppered that himself. Even in the fued with Rusev, the cheers he was getting are exactly the same ones that Jack Swagger or any other American would get against the 'foreign monster heel' gimmick.

Sets up nicely Rollins v HHH, some HHH v Steph tensions also (whether anyone wants to see it, thats the direction this is heading. Deal with it), and Reigns, meh, who cares? His repeated using the superman punch over and pver and over again - boring as *, apart from the one catching Rollins as he was coming off the top ropes - but even that only got a 2 count. Repetitive nd boring. There is a reason boxers don't jump when throwing a punch, doofus.

Cass came out of that matvh looking pretty strong aldso. Although first eliminated, to basically take a superman punch, a superkick and a frog splash from the other 3 to take him out.

What are they doing with Sami Zayn though? He was a high draft pick, but has not been involved in a meaningful storyline since winning the fued with KO, but yet KO has gone on to win the belt, where does that leave SZ?

HHH is clearly going against Steph and Foley now though, plus they must have known that Hunter was going to get a big face reaction after four months away. He was essentially a face before WM anyway, going against Roman.

Did you hear the crowd last night when he laid out Reigns and Rollins? They went apeshit.

Foley is not a heel, but Stephanie definitely is. From where I'm sitting, KO now looks as though he's more of a babyface than Rollins.

Rollins vs Owens for the title at Clash of Champions should be off the charts.

Think were gonna see Team Foley v Team HHH at Survivor Series, Seth and HHH won't go 1 on 1 to Mania at least

I'd actually like to see HHH/Foley one more time purely for nostalgic reasons, perhaps at SS, but there's no chance Mick is in any fit state to have even a semi decent match at his age and in his condition. Not worth the risk.

They could mask a lot of Foley's deficiencies by making it a street fight, which again would be a nice throwback to 2000, but even then it would be a very big ask.

    Still 10 years ago though.

    * knows what kind of condition Mick's body is in, but I'd be extremely surprised if he was able to pass the medical tests that would see him cleared for competition.

Oh aye, it would be a trainwreck, just saying he was still putting on decent matches a bit more recently than 2000.

I hope to * we don't get put through Lesnar V Shane.

Monday's WWE RAW, featuring Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns vs. Big Cass vs. Seth Rollins for the vacant WWE Universal Title, drew 3.413 million viewers. This is up from last week's 3.315 million viewers for the post-SummerSlam show.

For this week's show, the first hour drew 3.392 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.438 million viewers and the final hour drew 3.409 million viewers.

RAW was #3 on cable for the night in viewership, behind Major Crimes and Rizzolli & Isles, and #1 in the 18-49 demographic.

This evening's WWE Smackdown comes to us from the American Airlines Center in Dallas Texas, the site of the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. This week's show will continuing hyping the programs going into the September 11th Backlash event on the WWE Network. Tonight's broadcast will feature Heath Slater and Rhyno competing in the tag team championship tournament, possibly against the returning Headbangers.

This week's show will also feature Daniel Bryan's response to the Miz and his comments made on last week's episode of "Talking Smack."

WWE is also focusing on the following points:

    * Will The A-Lister suffer for ‘Talking Smack’?

    * Who will advance as the SmackDown Tag Team Tournament rages on?

    * Will Randy Orton look to take The New Face of Fear to Viperville?

    * Is Styles too big for Backlash?

    * Is Carmella due for a Bella bustin’?

Foley will never wrestle again, certain I read somewhere that he could only do the WM32 thing because there was no actually wrestling involved. He also had tests done when he was doing his whole feud thing with Dean Ambrose when he was in FCW/NXT and was told by a neurologist to never wrestle again.
