I am not sure what I am going to be able to lift so there will be a lot of trial and error involved, as expected I suppose.

Ask one of the instructors to quickly show the right form on a lift, after all that is what they are paid to do.

Sit watching you tube vids of perfect form

Look for Mark Rippetoe vids he is the king.

Watched one of his videos earlier, mate recommended him to me. Guess I will just have to spend a few hours watching. Going to head to poundland and get myself a diary to keep everything recorded.

get under my skin seeing * squat like that, moving three inches down doesn't count as a squat ya *! As you says the benefits of proper form to lifting like a * is like night and day.

Was it you that had the Starting Strength 3rd edition? I had the 2nd edition, was wondering what the difference in the workouts between them was?

Aye it was the best book i've ever bought regarding technique and how to do proper form. Made a lot of gains on that, he advised on drinking a gallon a milk a day lol, a only managed about 2-3 litres most days. A usually get through a litre a day on average now a days. Great protein.

That's exactly what to do mate :D

I was going to the gym for quite a few years before stumbling onto Madcow, if your starting out maybe have a look at Starting strength or stronglifts first.

I got amazing results on Madcow Intermediate, my bench was really high compared to my squat at the time so it brought my squats and deads up to speed in double time.

    I read this atricle

    http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

    and also downloaded the spreadsheet.

I'm onto Wendler 5/3/1 now as my gains will be slower, but it's the best programme I've done, though switched it up a bit on Friday and can't * walk today haha.

In fact just scrolling down, Tim has already provided the details, but the more that give it the thumbs up the better. :50:

I also have Starting strength and Wendler ebooks, have no probs in batting them over to you.

Cheers mate will definitely have a look.

I was going to go gym today but I don't think I am going to be able to lift much with my left arm, even done something to the muscle or it's just the normal process. Went on Friday and was fine for most of Yesterday but then it started to get a little painful.

Ah day 5 of reduced cards, wasn't bothering me till the Mrs walked in with an ice cold bottle of orange lucozade.

    Now I'm craving carbs like a * junkie :56:

3 things that usually break me are.

    Orange lucozade

A nice big latte from costa or starbucks

    Wheetos

    * I love them lol

Was watching come dine with me and keep seeing chocolate cakes and ice cream and cheesecake and it was killing me.

Still 3 and a half weeks in 2 and a half to go. Having a week of slowly reintroducing carbs before i go on holiday to america. Abs are coming along nicely also my running has improved, really do feel better on long distances there is no block just a constant supply of energy.

Ah cheesecake love it :56: what I do for a cheesecake alternative is get some philly cream cheese and add some chocolate protein powder and a touch of natural sweetener and it tastes just like the real thing :50:

Sadly seeing abs again are at least a couple of months away for me yet, last year diet and training went out the window and pretty much sabotaged all the hard work I put in the couple of years prior

Aye the energy is unreal it's hard to explain really

Lost half a stone after a week of going to the gym which is pretty impressive considering I have eaten so much crap including a McDonalds, two currys and a Chinese. :56:
