Wanyama is a good signing, he needs more money in order to compete - 2mil gets you players like Loovens these days - sums it up at times.

 

£400k gets you players like Bocanegra...

£750k gets you players like Goian...

I hate to be banging on about Rangers players, but they illustrate the point perfectly that decent defenders are out there for reasonable money!

as for the agm! soft line questions i think will be asked as the norm maybe 1 will get through that will make them sweat a little perhaps?

 

Exactly mate every hun manager has done this and it seems to serve the * well.even when the don't win the league you very seldom see results like our 4 goals lost to teams like Aberdeen,st mirren,Motherwell and brataslava.it's as if it's a policy they have.you could fill a team with the good defenders they have had over the past decade.shamefully we couldn't fill the bench with ours

the only thing i had a problem about this was the suppose 4.5m offer for diawara that fell through tbh. i dont think we were truly 100% going for him and at that price and therefore we should have used that 4.5m(if we had it?) and went out and signed a top quality defender or 2 for that. but thats only my opinion though.

 

I think that's what most of us were trying to get our head around.

It seems Lennon must have been happy with just bringing in Wilson for the centre of defence.

The money seemed to be there if he wanted to spend it. We may never know though.

 

Wilson was brought in and Before Sion I dont recall any1 having a problem with mistakeovic. What i mean is I dont think we realized the extent of how bad the defence were because last season or midfield were that good the remained largely untested.

Paul... there were plenty of us pointing out that Maj was gash from day-one and that the defence in general was a shambles last season (as it had been the season before... and the one before... and the one before... )!

As you rightly alluded to, our 'goals against' stats were so low because, a) most SPL opposition was so * poor that they could only muster one or two passing-move attacks during the entire 90 minutes and, b) the midfield usually managed to contain both those passing move attacks.

When it was lumped front to back... BOMBSCARE!

First two questions that need to be asked is.......

1.who has the final say on which players we sign.
2.why has our defence been over looked for so long,with only small amounts spent on it.

 

I am well up to speed on world football in my opinion, and I had never really heard of izzy or kayal before we signed them they turned ok did they not? So regarding not hearing about bangura the jurys still out on the lad, i am prepared to accept the verdict of larsson lennon and the board before i jump on a bandwagon.

I love they way people are writing him off as a dud after a few games and classing bocinegra and goian as world beaters, did rangers not get put out of europe twice and the cup to falkirk or are they world beaters as well?

We did need another top class defender i agree but we had to offoad b4 we signed one its simple really, maj, loovens, mulgrew, k wilson, m wilson, rogne, toshney and wanyama can all play central defence, are they all quality no but we have 8 players for 2 places would you rather we had 9 central defenders and only 3 forwards to choose from one of which being sammy.

Is it lennons fault that loovens and rogne are on the type of wages that mean we cant shift them and I will add hoovield and radmussen to that as well. Sammy and loovens will leave in the window I am pretty sure of this and i think they will be replaced by genuine 1st team players.

We need to stop looking over the river and bigging them up, long way to go and I am still fully behind our manager and i am sure he knows who needs to get rid of

The reason we have a Forster in goal is Lawwell wouldnt sign the polish keeper who`s now at those kingpins of europe GENK....Why is that it`s always MONEY with us. Considering the amount NET spent on the squad is virtually nothing it wasnt a surprise when we landed this lump-a-wid again.

 

Had anyone heard of Izzy,Kayal.Henke himself took a wee while to get used to Scottish game,ive got a feeling Bangura will come good.

I'm as * off as everyone else that we have not sorted out our CB positions,which the board are at fault.

 

the amount of people who have written off bangura is shocking give the bhoy a chance so many fickle fans we have now
