Gervinho is quality but needs development i.e. perfect wenger signing. Have a soft spot for them due to a gooner-daft flatmate and agree they have glaring areas of their squad that need addressed this summer.

Whether or not wenger will or not is another matter. Not sure if it's his resolute belief in his project or whether he doesn't want a big, expensive signing backfiring on him but he clearly needs to invest in some experienced quality or Arsenal are in danger of being left behind.

Wenger needs to be sacked in my opinion.

The results he has had on his budget are staggering. Granted, the trophy cabinet is pretty bare lately but give alex ferguson or any other manager in the league a budget like Arsenal and they'd have a * time of it consistently challenging for titles and getting top 4.

He is a victim of his own previous success IMO and since football's spending has gone into overdrive he has bravely championed a sensible system of youth development. He obviously needs to address areas of deficiency but he could not have predicted the long-term injury to Vermaelen and has been very unlucky with injuries to his talismen Fabregas, RVP and Walcott this year.

The team he has assembled on a relative shoe-string is nothing short of incredible.

I have watched Arsenal every week for the last 5 seasons and I have to say I don't think Wenger is the man to take the club forward. I have a lot of respect for him as a manager but he has turned a club I care about into a complete joke.

But would you have watched them every week for the past 5 years if Wenger hadn't assembled one of the finest passing sides in the world game? The man gets a hard time of it because his team are punching above their financial weight IMO. It is a shame though that with a little bit of investment in key areas that this team could be winning trophies.

Wenger's done a great job at Arsenal but he can't take them any fruther really. Financially they compete on the same level as Liverpool and Spurs and he's blown them out the water just about every year he's been there.

I would watch them no matter what style they played with. Arsenal always played nice football but they had heart and dig.

guillem Balaguè said on revista la liga earlier that aguero has asked athletico to not add tax to his transfer fee and price him out of a move the fee is believed to be £45m
but aguero seemingly had a gentlemans agreement back in January that he would join real madrid so if real want him no doubt athletico will know of this agreement and add the tax to the transfer fee which will end up in the region of £70m.

So the balls in reals court so to speak.

Wouldn't think so with Papac signing a new contract. Hearts look like they could be a real threat next season if they keep hold of there best players.

Papac can play centre back so could easily switch there.

Walter Smith didn't trust Papac in the middle I doubt McCoist will.

HSV will sign Chelsea's Jeffrey Bruma on a two-year loan deal in the next few days. Apparently Chelsea will have an option to get Bruma back in 2012. If they don't take it, HSV will have an option to buy him in 2013

Seedorf has renewed his contract until June 2012.

Spartak Moscow is after Demy de Zeeuw (Ajax

They will be a threat especially with two good wingers in Templeton and Driver.

Former Internacional and Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex is the latest Brazilian player to head back to his home nation, being presented officially as a Corinthians player.

The 29-year-old, capped four times by Brazil, held a press conference in Sao Paulo on Tuesday afternoon as he confirmed a €6.5 million switch to the Timao from Russia, where he played for just under two years.
