That Kayal tackle was terrible but as Kayal said himself 'That's football, sometimes they kick me sometimes I kick them'

Kayal dishes it out enough to be able to take it. The handball was * stupid but he is still a decent player. I would rather have more people of his quality in the SPL.

Hoffenheim face a fight to hold on to Gylfi Sigurdsson this summer, with the Icelandic star attracting interest from the Premier League once again.

Sigurdsson, who was monitored by Manchester United scouts during his time at Reading, moved to Hoffenheim last summer and has scored nine goals in 29 league appearances. His goalscoring prowess from midfield was duly noted by United and other Premier League clubs during his time at Reading but the midfielder opted to move to Germany instead.

Since then he has continued impressing and Bundesliga side Hoffenheim are wary of interest from England.Sigurdsson will be going to the Under 21 European Championships in Denmark this summer, with his five goals in as many games crucial to Iceland's passage to the tournament.

He scored 21 goals in 38 appearances in his last season for Reading before sealing a move to Hoffenheim and Premier League scouts have watched him numerous times in the Bundesliga. And Hoffenheim fear Sigurdsson will be putting himself in the shop window by starring for Iceland at Euro 2011.

Manchester United and Liverpool will have to look elsewhere for a goalkeeper after Hugo Lloris pledged his future to Lyon.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from a number of top clubs across Europe following his superb displays for the French club this season.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is desperate to find a top quality keeper to replace Edwin Van Der Sar who has retired from the game. And, while Atletico Madrid's David de Gea remains his first choice, Lloris was thought to be a back-up alternative.

Liverpool are also looking for a keeper to give Pepe Reina some competition, but both clubs have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Lloris after he decided to stay at Lyon.

Reports in France state that the French international keeper met with the club's president and is willing to sign a new deal in the next few weeks.

Didier Drogba looks set to snub a move to Italian giants AC Milan and make the trip across London to Spurs.

The north Londoners are in pole position to land the Chelsea striker whose days at Stamford Bridge have been numbered since the arrival of Fernando Torres for a British transfer record fee of £50m.

A striker is a top priority for Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and 33-year-old Drogba fits the profile with 145 goals in 306 games for Chelsea.Jermain Defoe, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch scored just 17 Premier League goals between them last season, one of the reasons Spurs dropped out of the Champions League places.

Drogba is Redknapp’s top target, but his wages are the only stumbling block. Spurs will have to smash their wage structure to land the Ivorian who is also attracting interest from Manchester City, a move which would see him united with Ivory Coast teammates Kolo and Yaya Toure.

The Stamford Bridge clear-out has already started with defender Michael Mancienne joining Hamburg while the futures of Michael Essien, Alex, Salomon Kalou, Yuri Zhirkov and Florent Malouda still remain uncertain.

Arsenal and Tottenham target Kevin Gameiro will decide on his future in the next two weeks - but he looks set to snub north London for Spain.

The sought after Lorient striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League since January, but now looks likely to complete his dream move to La Liga.

Valencia are believed to be leading the race to sign the 24-year-old and the chance to be a regular first-team player in the Champions League looks to have swayed his decision.

Speaking to the press after joining up with the France squad, Gameiro said: "I see where my future is and it will be decided in one or two weeks. I have my preference, but we shall see.

"I love Spain and want to go to a team where I will play all year, not to be alternated. It is me who must make the correct choice - no-one else."

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish set to swoop for Sunderland pair but Alberto Aquilani deal flounders

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is considering bidding for Sunderland’s £10 million-rated midfielder Lee Cattermole.

    By Mark Ogden

Dalglish is keen to bolster his midfield with young English talent and is an admirer of both Cattermole and his Sunderland team-mate Jordan Henderson, who is valued at £14 million. He has made informal inquiries about Cattermole, 23, and is set to follow them up with an official offer.

But Alberto Aquilani’s disappointing move to Liverpool is set to cost the Anfield club a further £4.4 million later this month – 10 months after his return to Italy on a season-long loan to Juventus.

The 26 year-old, who has started just 14 games in all competitions for Liverpool since his £17.6 million arrival on a five-year contract from Roma in Aug 2009, could be forced to return to Anfield next month after Juventus failed to take up an option to seal a permanent £14 million deal for the midfielder.

Liverpool must pay the final £4.4 million instalment of the £17.6 million transfer fee to Roma by June 30, even though Aquilani, whose last appearance came in the Europa League qualifier against FK Rabotnick last August, does not figure in Dalglish’s plans.

The financial drain caused by the balance of Aquilani’s transfer, combined by the substantial wages of out-of-favour players such as Joe Cole, Milan Jovanovic, Christian Poulsen, Emiliano Insua and Paul Konchesky, is unlikely to halt Dalglish’s pursuit of Cattermole and Henderson.

But further moves into the transfer market are likely to depend on how much Dalglish can trim from the club’s £120 million wage bill and generate by offloading those players viewed as surplus to requirements.

The financial black-hole surrounding Aquilani’s future is the most pressing at Anfield, however. The player has admitted his desire to remain in Italy, but despite interest from Juventus, AC Milan and Inter, Liverpool’s £14 million valuation is likely to prove prohibitive, with Juventus only prepared to offer £6 million for the player.

Liverpool, who are due to pay Roma five per cent of any money generated by Aquilani’s sale, could be forced to sell at a substantial loss or choose to loan him again next season, which is an unlikely option due to the prospect of his value diminishing further in 12 months’ time.

Aquilani’s agent, Franco Zavaglia, remains hopeful, however, that a deal can be struck between Liverpool and Juventus.

Zavaglia said: “All season, Juventus have given me the necessary guarantees that they want to keep Alberto.

“The next 24 hours will be decisive. Any eventual economic agreements will follow after Juventus make their decision.

“If Juventus can’t do a deal for Alberto and he has to return to Liverpool, then Milan would certainly be a destination that he would accept.”
