I'm going to try and do a Songquest, that will hopefully encourage people to pick songs they really love, rather than just picking songs that will see them through to the next round.
It's going to be in the form of a league table, and the amount of 'matches' you play will depend on how many people sign up.
Every round of voting will see you head to head against another player, and as usual you vote on the ties that your song is not involved in. It'll be run like a league table. You get 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. So when you vote, you pick a team to win, if two songs get the same amount of votes then it's a draw. So at the end of the 'season' there will be a champion. If two or more players finish with the same amount of points we'll have a playoff final to determine the winner.
If a lot of people sign up, then I'm aware it could go on for several weeks, so I'll impose voting deadlines to try and keep it at a decent pace. If you don't vote within the deadline, you get a loss for that week's fixture.
I was thinking of doing a theme every week of fixtures, or having a week with a theme, and then a week where you can submit anything you like, and so on. Thoughts?
