Everyone seemed to approach the Molde and Malmö games in an over-confident matter, including Deila. The question is how long folks are going to keep using that as a stick to whip him with, when clearly there are many positives as well: Players are by large developing well, lots of young players breaking into the first team and playing well, team is getting more balanced, everyone seems to recognise where strengthening is needed, manager seems to be getting backed etc. Is it then really so hard to live with a few tactical blunders by an inexperienced, young manager in Europe? Even top managers fall flat on their arses in Europe from time to time, and Deila is obviously going to get another crack at it. Patience is the key, third time's a charm, and all that.

In Ronny we trust. I can't wait untill the roar comes back and we rid ourselves for good, of the attitude groupies like Stokes. A progressive, prosperous future ahead..

    One Ronny Deila..

It's not everyone's job to motivate the team and keep them focused.

Everyone wants him to change his system why won't he oblige:31:

I don't mind confidence, it's arrogance and naivety that brought us those failures.

PlasticViking - I can't quote you for some reason.

The reality is it's part of Deila's job not to give in to the irrational overconfidence that can easily creep into any group of supporters. I've seen our fans completely confident of us beating some of the best sides in the world, even over-turning 1st leg home defeats against teams like Juventus in the CL. For me it should never be used as an excuse for a manager on any level, never mind the level we aspire to be at.

There are obviously a few positives to take now - primarily the fact that our domestic form has ben very consistient as of late. It has to be said though that we saw the same thing last year. He will be given another shot at things barring a disasterous collapse and we do need to get behind him, but unfortunately the only way of him getting past the Malmo and Molde results in by proving his worth in European competition. Until then, those results will be used as a stick to whip him with.

Assuming the poster I quoted did not actually ask everyone then I took the same license in my reply. Is there a reason you decided to ask me did I ask everyone and ignore the post I referred too?
